come one, come all...
boy and i will be viewing the perseids from the balds along the AT near beuna vista, virginia on august 9th - 11th. park at hog camp gap and camp there in the field friday night. wide open skies. saturday night will be spent atop cold mountain, another wide open bald. we'll take the old hotel trail to cow camp gap and the AT to the top of cold mountain. next morning we'll take the AT back down to hog camp gap and then dayhike the pompey mountain - mount pleasant loop. will be an awsome trip with the best balds in virginia outside of the mount rogers area. if you need more info or directions to get there my email is mccracdb_1@msn.com

I wanna go and can't!

Baume 66 plans good hikes, and this one sounds like a winner.

hey lyra, why don't you and tarpie come on down. we will be parking at the same spot (hog camp gap) you and your friend came to last time when we missed you.

I sent you an email. I'm very interested, but just depends on when I can get off work on Friday.

i got your email luise
i reckon it will take you about 3.5-4 hours depending on traffic at your end. i'll send you an email with detailed directions off of 81 sometime today. it's not hard to find and the place we will be camping friday night is a very large field (hog camp gap) right near the parking area so there wouldn't be any night hiking involved.

ok, directions have been sent to those that requested them. if you did not receive them then it is my fault and you need to tell me.

we're leaving in about an hour...
any who show up looking for us, we will be the ones with no tent, sleeping in the middle of the field on ground cloths. forecast looks great. bug spray and head net (if necessary).
