Great flicks, Bruce Campbell is the man. I've had the pleasure to work with him a couple of times, really great guy, absolutely hilarious in real life, even more so than his movies.

The Evil Dead/Army of Darkness series are fantastic.. Very twisted and hilarious. If you're looking for something campy and haven't seen them yet, they're a must rent!

Lyra - I was actually on a TV segment with him on MSNBC, where I used to work. My senior producer knew I was a big fan, so she put me on the air with him where he asked me trivia questions on the Evil Dead series. I got them all right. Our paths crossed a couple of more times after that.

He has a book out, "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor". HIGHLY recommended reading, he gives great insight into what it takes to make a movie on a tight budget, and he's led a really interesting life. If you enjoy Corporal Nasty's posts, you'd enjoy his book, very similiar styles of writing!

By the way, in regards to that jerky I shared you with you guys.. guess what it was made of?
Artex

Aww c'mon! If you'll eat Soylent Green, what's wrong with my jerky?

Okay, here's some trivia.. no cheating and looking up the answers on the internet.

1. In what movie did Ash say "Give me some sugar, baby?"

2. What two items replaced Ash's hand after it was cut off?

3. What was the title of the book used to weigh down the bucket that trapped Ash's lopted off hand?

4. Which hand was it that was cut off, right or left?

5. Complete the sentence "Well, hello mister ________."

6. What did Ash tell the peasants his shotgun was?

7. In what state was Evil Dead filmed?

8. Who directed all three movies?

9. What famous movie makers helped with the cinematography on the Evil Dead?

10. Describe the alternate ending to Army of Darkness, and why wasn't it used in the final cut.

Okay Mapleleaf, here's how you did. Pardon my stern matter of grading, but the road to becoming a true Deadite is a rigorous one..

1. Correct

2. Incorrect - chainsaw and a mechanical hand.

3. Incorrect - "A Farewell to Arms" (get it?)

4. Correct

5. Incorrect - Fancypants.

6. Correct

7. Incorrect - Tennessee

8. Incorrect - Sam Raimi (who also recently directed "Spiderman")

9. Incorrect - Coen Brothers ("Fargo", "Raising Arizona", "Big Lebowski", "O' Brother Where Art Thou", to name a few of their other works).

10. Incorrect - aka The Rip Van Winkle ending. Ash takes one drop too many of a potion which is supposed to put him to sleep and he'd wake up in his own time. Because he took the extra drop, he woke up in the far future in a post-apocolyptic (sp?) world. It wasn't used because test audience's thought it was too depressing, and they decided to go with a happier ending.

Only 30%, but a lot of those questions were super-duper tough.

Ha ha ha! Yeah, those questions were tough. My brother and I love those movies, and always try to one-up each other with trivia, hence my honed skills.

I also have a two-foot high statue of Ash with a motion sensor on it. Whenever you walk past it, it'll say quotes from Army of Darkness. Needless to say, I cherish it greatly.

I LOVE movies...
I like some of everything...

and B-movies (especially horror) are some of the most fun for me.

if you have IFC (Independent Film Channel) not only should you check it out regularly, it's a great channel, but in October they show some of the best independent horror films.

Texas Chainsaw, Martin, Night of the Living Dead, Suspiria, etc.

These are all regulars, and show a good example of not only horror film, but of film making craft as well...

Worst, or best, B movie I have ever seen was called Blood Diner (First they greet you, then they eat you.) I saw it once, like eight years ago, and have never been able to find it at the video store since. Keep an eye out for it though, it's worth the watch...

The guy wanted to be an artist so badly, but he had absolutely no talent. He wound up killing people and covering them with clay.
