need last min. trip idea

“im taking the kids car camping this weekend. id like to leave NYC on friday night. id like to try and go some where other then the same place ive gone for the last couple of years car camping.
i dont wont to travle that far maybe within 1 1/2 hrs.
any ideas?

“Stokes State Forest and Worthington State Forest, but they seem to fill up on weekends so You might reserve a spot if you can. They have a website and phone number to call for reservations.”

“I may wander up that way Sunday. Not sure yet. I have to get packed for WVa in the coming week.”
