I'll gladly carry the extra weight (3/4lb.) of my espresso maker for the satisfaction of my morning cup. It's either that or Billy cup (grounds in boiling water).

I don't bring coffee backpacking anymore. Sometimes I do bring some Chai tea.

By the way, I was at a Korean Grocery store last week and found some little packets of instant coffee (with creamer). I don't drink much coffee, but it comes in a pack of 50 or 100 servings I think....The packets look like those 1 serving Crystal light packets.

Don't know how good the coffee is, but it might be something to think about for those who want a quick and easy fix... and lightweight as well...
