I need some help here... I had both my hydration bladders ( the regular Camelbak and the old Unbottle Camelbak) hanging in a locker, and smart me also had laundry detergent and some fabric softener in there. Well as the hydration system hung they absorbed some of the "flavor" of the detergent. I tried filling the bladder 3/4 full of warm water and added 1/2 a cup of
baking soda and let sit for 48 hours. It worked until the bladder dried out and I put water in it again, then the flavor came back, albeit a little less stronger. Any advice on how to get rid of it or should I just go and buy new bladders?
If nothing else come out of this that is positive, I learned a VALUABLE and can share it with you all!

i dont know if it would help with your prob. but it might be worth giving it a try. what could you loose other then a nasty taste in your mouth unless it would be bad for the bladder

Sparky, When we had the travel trailer we used a mixture of h20 and bleach each spring to sanitize the holding tanks. Not sure what the ratio was. It won't take much though. Let it sit overnight and then flush.

A Few Suggestions
Lemon juice may work.

Haver you tried tequila, also?

Maybe leave iced tea in it for a few days till the tea turns bad. It may taste of stale tea, but at least it may get rid of the detergent taste.
