I had to get my daughter up early to register for school today. She drove to her Mom's house to meet her friends. When I got to work she called and told me her Mom's house was flooded. Busted water heater.

Well Mom is out of town and the daughter is leaving to be first in line at school. So the Good ex-husband left work and shut off the water. The door was unlocked so I went in to turn off the circuit breaker to the water heater and make sure there wasn't anything else wrong.

The place was a lake. I thought about peeing on the living room carpet, but since my daughter lives there most of the time I did not.

I am the good ex-husband.

Bacpac, you do have a heart. I'd even bet that you would put a severely injured stray dog out of its misery.
I imagine if it was the ex you wouldn't have run over, but it was your daughter looking for help.

Not to blow sunshine up your butt or anything.. but good going. Life's too short to remain bitter.

But you didn't do it because the ex-wife was once your wife, you did it because your daughter lives there. And you knew that your daughter would appreciate it. So this makes you a major softee, huh? Next thing you know (in the future) you'll be taking your daughter to Lamaze classes because her husband had to go away on business. And then you'll be manning the video camera at the preschool graduation. Pouf, before you know it, you'll be in a motorhome with the grandkids, your daughter's mother in law and a dog. You might want to get the revolver out now.

Seems like most folks are surprised.

I am the good father, the good son, the good brother, the good friend, the good neighbor, and the good ex-husband. I am just not the good TT'er.

I have no problems with bacpac. He speaks his mind like everyone else here. It's just that his views are unpopular. That doesn't make him a misanthrope or a bad person.

So, what constitutes a good TTer Bacpac?

misanthrope - someone who scorns or hates humanity.

humanpackmule - If you keep throwing those big words at me, I'll never get out of here.

Bacpac is definitely not an misanthrope. But is he the one who stated that he had enought friends and did not need (or want) any more? I think we should throw a big bash for him and try to expand his group of friends. He does not appear to be too different from me, except in age. I had to help an ex- with a flooded home, too. But it was more than water. The outside burried septic tank pump went out in a frozen Minnesota winter. He is beating his own drum about being a good ex-. I am ex- to several. I keep beating my own drum about some things.

I nominate Bacpac for TT Social Chairman.
