So about 3 minutes later I pass him pulled over with one of the County Deputies behind him. (LOL)”

“Okay...we were working a major fire the other night. Due to the location of the building we had to lay a 5inch supply line across a major road. Sheriffs office is ON the scene. I watch as a line of cars come up. Each one follows the direction of the officer and turns around to go back down the road.

After 15 cars have done this, Grampa and Gammera pull up in their Caddilac Escalade and head PAST the police officer toward the hose. In Ga it is illegal to cross a hose line either charged or uncharged. IF you cross a charged 5" line there is ever possibility you will blow the line from the compression of the line.

So the officer orders grampa to stop. Grampa angrily rolls down the window of his car and says, "Get that "G#DDamn hose off the street. I need to get home."

He is totally oblivious to the fact that men are risking their lives not 50 feet away searching a burning building for a "victim" (no one was in there).

“Did I miss a memo or something? Who became the new Calendar Pope and changed all the calendars so Monday is now the first day of the week? My existing lame planner as well as all the new ones I've looked at have Monday as the first day of the week instead of Sunday, then they have Saturday and Sunday sharing one little square at the end of the week. I HATE THAT!”

“Nonconformist... I've had that beef with pocket planners for ages. It really gives a challenge to those of us who find Sunday to usually be a rather packed day. There are very few styles that give the same space for each day of the week. That's one reason I like my PDA. Each day is the same layout.”

when i was thru-hiking, i hate it when women expect you to go out of your way to give them privacy. this mostly applies to when i was thru-hiking the AT, but i can think of at least one moment outside the AT.

sometimes its just a matter of they want to change clothes and you have to look away or close your eyes. yea, i know, whats so hard about that? like i said, i know its selfish. but its the peeve list, not the "great horrible injustice" list. sometimes its just annoying to have to stop what youre doing and have to look away and close your eyes when you dont feel like it. you want privacy in the shelter? turn your back so i cant see your precious boobies, go behind the shelter, or change in your sleeping bag. its not that hard.

but then there was one chick who just 5 minutes after leaving the shelter, decides she has to go to the bathroom, but instead of going off into the woods, pees next to the trail, while her boyfriend makes us wait before we advance. this is the same chick who has no problem walking up to me while im on the only semi-enclosed privy. or theres the women at a pair of pa AT shelters, who thought one shelter should be womens, and one mens. or once, when i was visiting a male and female couple in a motel room while she was taking a shower, she comes out in a towel and decides to sit there, and he asks her why shes sitting around in her towel, says shes waiting for me to leave. apparently, changing in the bathroom is beneath her
