“I've got a new one. People who email you asking for all kinds of info, but don't have you approved on their aggressive spam filter.

Todays case in point: someone writes me with questions about a day hike I'm organizing - I took the time to reply and low and behold I get a bounce back message saying I have to submit a request to get my email reply through - including having to type in a code on fairly tough to read Captcha kind of thing.

I could blame the filter - email spam filters should automatically approve the recipients of out going messages, unless the writer explicitly chooses not to have them approved. But heck, if you are going to ask for my time to give you info, don't leave it so I have to take more time to get permission to get the answer to you.”
