Filter Bottles
Bought a few Filter bottles 3 yrs ago (Bota of Boulder)- they worked grt. Getting hard to squeeze now so bought 2 Aquamira (Bota no longer avail) They appear to be exactly the same in all respects except they are even harder to squeeze new than the 3 yr old ones. Can anyone explain or had sim experiences?

pouring boiling water into the bottle may soften it up.

I use the AquaMira bottles. When the filters get dirty they are hard to squeeze.

BUT, if they are new and hard to squeeze, then usually I try another filter. The replacement filters I've tried have been easier. I'm not sure how well they're filtering water if some are easy and some not. For quality control purposes, you'd think they'd all be the same.

Like everyone else, I love it when they're easy to squeeze!

Also, make sure you take a backup water treatment (tablets) or something else. The last time I went backpacking, I accidentally stepped on my filter bottle after slipping on a rock. I had tablets as backup but was lucky and didn't need to use them.

Try running tapwater through the filter backwards.
