My DAMN hydromedary lite is leaking from the threads of the little cap that screws onto the larger cap. I use that thing on every dayhike, backpacking trips included, but I've only had it for maybe about a year. I figured I'd puncture the bag loooong before the cap(s) wore out. Now, no matter how tight I screw the small cap on, when pressure is put on the bag, water leaks. UGH!!!

Maybe a strip of plastic wrapped around the threads then screwing the cap on will work. And maybe a letter to the manufacturer is in order too. I always have sworn by these water containers...now I'm swearing at one.

Contact MSR and see if they will offer you a replacement cap or new bag ...couldn't hurt!

i don't know just a thought. you probably wouldn't be able to keep opening and closing the little cap but it might stop the leaking.

MSR has always had a awesome rep for backing their stuff. Shoot em a email and I bet they'll send you a new cap for free.

I think there is a small O ring in the small cap that connects to the elbow and it might be torn. I would think that they would send you a new one.

One of the MSR bags I bought had a defective cap also. The mold cavity did not completely fill when they injection molded the cap. Take a look at the cap and see if it has any weak spots. Since mine was brand new I sent it back for an exchange. See if you can file the cap to get a better seat or send it back for your money.
