I bushhogged the pasture next to my house last night. The Moon was shining so bright that I didn't even need the headlights.

I don't think we're gonna see any moons or Mars for awhile on the East Coast. Advance forecast does not look good.

Nah...I just need practice before the NH trip! I've heard that its a tradition to moon the Cog Railroad.

Not sure why but I would venture to guess that it has something to do with hikers slogging their way to the top while the "evil tourists" take the easy way up.

Hey, the cog railroad is neat. Those little tea kettles are way cool. Course, seeing people mooning on the way adds to the value of the ticket.

Hunter's Moon Oct 10th.
Full Hunter's Moon With the leaves falling and the deer fattened, it is time to hunt. Since the fields have been reaped, hunters can easily see fox and the animals which have come out to glean.

That depends on when the moon rises and sets. Here's a link to build a sunrise/sunset or moonrise/moonset table for your area. Moonrise tonight for my area in NH is 5:38 PM and moonset is 6:03 AM. Sounds like 9:30 PM should be just dandy around NYC.

The full moon closest to the Winter Solstice is up for the longest time and highest in the night sky.

That of the Summer Solstice is the lowest and of shortest duration.

We could be headed for a Blue Moon soon.
