We don't want to wait that long...
Phil is tense and needs to get to the Sierras right away! ;)

But I'm sure we could put together a SierraPalooza 2003 if y'all want to travel out west for a bit !

It was around 10 miles to the lower lake. That is an awesome place.

I do have to be in town on Sept 7th. I have a wedding I have to attend. I am not sure when you guys plan on going.

We could do a 2 or 3 day weekend in September or October and a longer trip next summer.

what weekend works for the fall trip?
wingding0
11:12:21 PM

WLD ...did you explore any of the upper lakes? I was looking at Lake 11,388 any good camping there? From there a person might be able to bag Columbine Peak 12,562'and or Isosceles Peak 12,321 if they're not to technical.
Wind Walker
11:20:48 PM
8/21/02

Yes, there are plenty of camping spots on several of the upper lakes. Including several challenging peaks to back. Even from the lower lake there is a non-technical route along the ridge line I was on. But if we are going to bag a peak, then we will probably need a 3 day trip.
WLD

I'll go along with what ever the group wants to do...
I'm just looking at Topo! and daydreaming...Remembered your recent pics and revisited your webshots album of Dusy Basin.
Would like to visit Dusy sometime!

October sounds good except the first weekend. Does anyone else have a 3-day weekend on Columbus Day?

South Lake (Bishop Pass Trailhead) is West Of Bishop...Dusy Basin is just over the pass.

I haven't been able to get on TT all night til now
the last post I saw was Pepperdogs.

South Lake (9,800') to Bishop Pass (11,980') = 5.5 mi

From Bishop Pass, descend to Dusy Basin, another 2-3 mi, depending how far you go.

South Lake is 23 miles west of Bishop.

What about Sabrina Basin as a backup? There are tons of lakes in the area. Last August I took a group there, and it was pretty nice. Sabrina (9,100') to Hungrypacker Lake (11,070') is 7 miles in, but you don't have to go over a pass (thinking about those who don't have time to acclimatize for a weekend trip).

I can go any weekend EXCEPT
Sept 28-29,
Oct 12,
Oct 18-20

No vacation left this year, so I can only do weekenders now. Except for the canoe trip in October. '03 will have more time off. I accumulate ~3.3 hrs/wk

Leaving from Lake Sabrina sounds good to me!
Hungry Packer Lake...did they name that one after WLD....LOL!

I was looking at that area last night on Topo! also.

Ok let's see WLD can't go on the 7th, Snow Nymph can't go on the 28/29th.

So how about Sept. 14/15 or 21/22 ?
