REI has the Kelty Light Year 3D +30 degree Polarguard 3D sleeping bag on sale for $75 (reg $100).
2# 1oz and packs small (in the ad).
One of my friends is looking for a cheap bag.
Anybody got this bag? What's the REAL temp range? Opinions needed.

Stove -

I saw that in their Labor Day sale flyer and I was wondering the same thing. They rate it to 30 degrees don't they? That's not bad at all and it packs to 7 x 17" I think?

Anyone have any first hand knowledge of this bag??

Speak up folks!!

the weight is probably closer to 3# and synth bags are like lugging watermelons. If your not in a wet climate get down.

I got the REI Solo-lite at their last sale with 20% off for around $150 or so. SnowDude got the same bag, but a different color for $69. because it was last years model. Its a 25 deg bag, weighs 2 lbs, is down, and stuffs pretty small. It has the REI version of dry loft, so condensation or moisture doesn't soak thru. It stayed dry in Montana and Wyoming.

That looks good. I like the price and weight. Couple of things. If the rating is a little light, he could just wear a little extra while in the bag and he should be fine, within reason.

What conditions will the bag be mainly used in?

I noticed also that the online version only shows a right handed zip. This might be inportant depending what kind of tent he uses. With my tent, Hilleberg Akto, you have to go with a left handed zip. I had the same thing happen to me when the REI Shasta that I wanted, mentioned only right handed zip online. I went to the store, with a print out from the website and they hand the left handed zip in stock. It was the last one.

Good Luck!
