My son has a T-shirt design. I'll have him put it up and you can see if you like it.

Naviguesser - This t-shirt was designed a while back with you in mind!

Hey Phil I likes that last one, the one you put up for Nav. It needs "thebackpacker.com" in small black lowercase letters on the front left chest tho, to perfect if out. I'd buy one'a those w/ my mug order! Whuchyathank?

Phil
I like Navi's Tee shirt too.Could you add Sierrapalooza 2003 on the front also with naked ape's suggestion.I would love one then.:~ )

I have that, only with a picture of a pack and boots.

Thanks for thinking 'bout me.

So, the shirt suggestion is to put:

Sierrapalooza
thebackpacker.com

on the front?

We can do that.

I'll get going on it.

Perfect Phil! And the shirt ain't half bad either! hehe Im'a gonna get one.

Minor detail thing: looks like the shirt begins with a lowercase letter, but it ends with a period. As an overall design strategy, ya need to have either an uppercase with it's period, or just an all-lowercase phrase with no punctuation ........... no?

naked - I think it is a generational thing. People in chat rooms often don't capitalize anything. Sometimes my students write me email messages like that and it drives me crazy.

I will leave it up to my son to decide whether to change it or not.

FYI. Rules for message writers. (How soon we forget!)
Phil

actually, i was thinking it needed to read:

"backpacking is life; everything else is just details"

since "everything else is just details" can be an independent sentence, shouldn't the comma be replaced, as cited above?

(and yes, i rarely capitalize in informal communication.)
tarbubblebaby

Hehe, perhaps pepper. Tar the comma is better aesthetically, it just looks like a 2nd grader wrote the quote on the shirt, as it looks now.

I signed up!
Ok, I signed on as a maybe only because I have to check out all the details and the terrain. I have to get in better shape for sure because it looks like there are several steep hills to climb.

I'm soooo ready mentally but not physically. Thank God I have some time! This should be a great trip! Can't wait!

Don't worry about the steep stretches. The days are short enough that it doesn't matter if you take an hour break every mile.

hikerchic - The 5-day trip! That's a couple extra miles/day than the 7-day trip. You have plenty of time to get in shape! (At least I always tell myself that).
Phil

3/20/03

I got my cups! Pretty Ding Dang Cool!

hikerchic, if your worried about being in shape come with us on the 7 day trip. It's going to be a lot more fun than going with those extremists, those fitness nazis, on the 5 dayer.

Wind, maybe you should come over to the "longer" side.

Phil, I'm not singing, and you can't make me! Well, ok, 100 bottles of beer.

ldhiker, haven't got any permits yet.

Glad to hear we're neighbors(to Mr.Rogers music). I'm a native Stocktonian born around the Dameron Hospital area. Good to know you're close for carpool and hiking times. Must get together for a beer!

From the trip sign-ups, it looks like we'll be fine for permits. There are some people signed up for both the 5-day and the 7-day and there are lots of maybe people. If you're planning on going, sign-up on the trip page.
