“tango - BIOLA University is a Christian College. The name came from "Bible Institute Of Los Angeles". It is a well known school in the Los Angeles area with a good reputation. The produce a lot of teachers. A number of teachers, students, and administrators attend my church.”

Tango, It was beautiful up there yesterday! Short sleeves and shorts were comfortable even in the snow...must have been in the low to mid 70's...there was rushing water and waterfalls everywhere.”

hikerchic - I can't recall if bear canisters are required or optional without looking thru old threads. However, I highly recommend bear canisters for everyone. Then you don't have to worry about it and everyone benefits.”

I dropped my walking program for two weeks, but I started back up this evening and walked about 4 miles in an hour.

Navi, did you get people lined up for campsites?”

“Not yet, I'm procrastinating.”

“Who's procrastinating? Seems like you started the process. Are any of the 5-dayers even planning to spend the night before at the trailhead?”

“I've been busted!”

“As some of you know, last December I started developing symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have been mostly in denial about what it will mean for backpacking activities but I am now facing the probability of not being able to go on the Sierrapalooza. I will very likely be driving down to the trailhead to camp before everyone heads out just to say hi to Friends from the South.

I will definately be playing hostess to several tt-ers, by my count Big Robb, Big Poppa, Hodgeman of BC, and LadyHiker. Among us we will arrange to pick up everyone flying into Sacramento, including aussie on the 4th. If you are coming through Sacramento and wanting to have our help but aren't mentioned in this posting, get in touch with me to arrange transport.
