“Speaking of Seirrapaloozers.... I took a small local group across the border to Mt Baker, Wa, since the forests are now all closed here in southern BC. And I had just hopped out of the truck to pick up a permit, when I spot Aussie walking up the path. Turns out her group from Seattle were sharing the trail with us today. Talk about coincidence”

“I used navi's method myself on the last trip to "clean" my underwear. I was worried about an explosion, but it didn't happen.”

“Every time I have a day off I spend part of it looking at everyone's photos from the trip, but I never quite finish, since I can't remember where I left off the time before.
So I figured I better post my appreciation while we all remember going. (I'll never forget, but......)”

“I gotta chime in anytime I see Sierrapalooza posted. Too many great memories. On the trip I just met both of you passing in the other direction but since then we've hiked and dined on beautiful granite rocks. Its definately a great way to meet backpacking partners. Although I have met backpackers in bars:Rockman,Pepperdog and Phaedrus. I'm going to get some more pics on my Webshots soon(I hope).”

“Oh yea! I guess that can read kinda funny. The llamarama trip was a great one and I remember it well. I didn't block that one out of my memory.OK now lets go have that drink!!”

“So, what about Sierrapalooza 2004?”

“I'm already thinking about Sierra trips for next year. I'm going to do a couple 5 to 7 day trips and then a bunch of long-weekend trips. This year I opted for 3-day and longer backpacing trips, which gave me more days out and less driving than last year when I did mostly 2-day weekend trips.

This season isn't over yet. Next week it's Taboose Pass to Bench Lake and then over Columbus Day we're heading out to Thousand Island Lake.”

“Does Wyoming have grizzlies? Did anyone else read that Backpacker magazine article about Alaska, where you walk along calling out "bear, bear" every few minutes? Or was it "bare, bare"? Either way, it shatters the peace.”

I haven't seen the Wonderland trail thread in a while. Is that still a possibility? I'd like to do that trip before it blows its top.”

“Hi everyone! No, I didn't bite the big one! Thought you got rid of me eh? But nope, I'm still here! Been busy busy! Went on a week trip to Imigrant Basin Wilderness last week. Gorgeous place! I'll show pics if I ever get my palooza pics posted on a darn webshots page.

Navi wrote to me a while ago stating he and Mozard were planning a trip to possibly Yosemite but I haven't heard anything and I don't see any trips for Cali on the trips page. Has anyone heard from him about that?

“I think I'd fly and rent a car.”

“Fly to Salt Lake, I'll pick you up on the way.”

“WY is difficult to fly to because there are <500,000 people in the whole state. I've been on trips there where folks do the SLC pick up thing. Delta and United go into Jackson I believe. It's a long hard day's drive from Phoenix, but I've done it several times now.

Seriously, I think a car pool arrangement is about the best one can do.”

“hmmm, i'm planning to be in Montana for a week or so next summer. hmmm. i'll keep an eye on this, too.”
