Flying with stove fuel “Ive got a peak one stove that uses white gas> My question is can i fly somewhere with fuel in my stove? Unfortunately white gas is not always easily obtained. I wonder if id be better off with a stove that burns unleaded gas that is easily obtainable.” 9:03:49 AM 8/25/02 “Word is that most airlines won't let you take any fuel, and often no fuel cannisters. Contact the airline.” 9:05:20 AM 8/25/02 “SP: Even emtpied fuel bottles present some risk due to residual fumes - so arlines are very strick about this. Gettin fuel wherever you go should be no problem. Stoves that specify "White Gas only" can use Coleman fuel. In a pinch, you can also use unleaded auto fuel. Some folks say that auto fuel will clog some stoves more quickly than Coleman or White Gas... but I believe that using a little auto carb cleaner in the mix will keep this problem to a minimum (or make it go away). Some people say that Coleman and auto-fuels are kinds of white gas... others say that there is a slight difference - but anything that can use white gas can use Coleman.” 9:54:52 AM 8/25/02
