Cool, but that'd be a mighty big chip!

The backpack across the Saddleback Ridge is one of the finest I've ever done. I do hope it winds up in good hands.

I'm in, are we sure it is big enough? Maybe they will let us try it before we buy it. It is a bit north of the Mason/Dixon line.

Its a bargain now... it was going for 12 million, but they are now only asking 8!. And, using simer's math (which was right) it's only 25,000 a piece if we are putting 10% down.

Only 8 mil? That's doable!
At $15 each per year it would only take us a little over 5,000 years to raise the cash. That assumes 100 TTers. Think of the great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grand children who would benefit from this!

I'm trying to remember what the Trail Conference paid to preserve a narrow trail corridor along the Saddleback Range. I'm thinking $964 an acre is a bargain by comparison. I'm wondering if the Nature Conservancy or similar group would go for it and tear down the ski resort.

That is on my list of 'must do' hikes. Glad to hear you speak so glowingly of it, ped.
