The best ever hiking pal I have had is gone..Buddy, my dog, got ran over today..I will greatly miss him..I was going to take him up to meet Mike this weekend..It hurts to see his pack hanging there and knowing I will never see him jump for joy everytime I asked if he wanted to go hiking..
At least I can remember the good times we had hiking..and be thankful I had him in my life when I needed a friend to lean on..

Merry Part my dear friend

that was buddy...he was there for me when I was having problems at home..

When we went hiking he would get impatient with me if I stopped too long..he would go a few yards up the trail and look back at me saying " Come on !!"
The most wonderful thing about him was I didnt have to train him..He just took to hiking like hed been doing it all his life..The last 2 years of his life was filled with great days on the trail..well except that one time in GA when a bear scared the doo doo out of him..lol

On July 5th we put Jake, our springer down, a day after his 14th birthday.
The loss lessens as the days go by, but never goes away. We wish you the best.

Even though I don't know you, Evergreen...
I know what it is like to love your dog...and I feel very very sad for you. You keep hiking, put his little collar on your pack, and go with him in spirit...Mike will support you all the way.

This has been a strange day... sad news... and wonderful news, also.
For some reason I just thought of this song.

Well the sun is surely sinking down
But the moon is slowly rising
So this old world must still be spinning 'round
And I still love you

So close your eyes
You can close your eyes, it's all right
I don't know no love songs
And I can't sing the blues anymore
But I can sing this song
And you can sing this song
When I'm gone

It won't be long before another day
We gonna have a good time
And no one's gonna take that time away
You can stay as long as you like

So close your eyes
You can close your eyes, it's all right
I don't know no love songs
And I can't sing the blues anymore
But I can sing this song
And you can sing this song
When I'm gone

And it won't be long before another day
We gonna have a good time
And no one's gonna take that time away
And you can stay as long...
As long as you like

I'm soooo sorry for your pain and your family's loss. I cried as I read about him, and after reading what everyone else has been saying. I can see from just those few pictures alone, that he was loved. Know that he will walk in front of you, all the time, looking back at you and asking, "What's taking you so long?"

Sweetie, I`m sorry to hear you lost your hiking "buddy" and pets are like people, well, almost.

They share your food, your good and bad times, the warmth of your house and heart and it`s never easy when they depart.

Maybe pets become such good friends because they`re such great listeners and they tend to rush to your side at the first hint of you coming into their world and they continue to do it from the first day, until their last day. Our pets never seem to grow tired of us, or run away with the mailman, even if they do tend to want to chase after him, they always come back to us. To bad other friends aren`t as loyal, understanding and so undemanding of us and our time.

Buddy going away like he did is going to be hard on you, you didn`t get to properly tell him goodbye and I know how that hurts. You feel like you let him down and there should have been more you could have done, but there isn`t.

Pets and friends seem to come into our lives at a time when we need them the most and it`s just not easy to let go of a "friend" that was there for you always.

Buddy shared a lot of things with you over the years you had him, be thankful for that and your time together. Your family, friends and I share your loss of a good friend.

We too have all lost something special in our lives at one time, or another and we know the pain you feel now, over the loss of the happiness Buddy once brought to you with all of his love, in the form of a wagging tail, wet tonuge, cold nose and those knowing eyes.

Sorry
Having lost a loved pooch in an untimely way, I understand your loss. That hole will always be there no matter what. You may get another dog, but it will not be Buddy. Yet, in his own way, Buddy will always be with you if you carry him in your heart, and I know you will.
