Computer virus in Yahoo?

A friend of mine just told me last night she got an e-mail virus. Now weird things are happening in my Yahoo e-mail account. I'm just not sure what to do. And trying to find a contact e-mail for Yahoo is like....... hmmmmmmmm... trying to find an address to heaven or hell. :-)

Since last night I have now gotten 4 e-mails, all from separate entities. They all say they're around 140 K in size. I opened the first two from unknown, specific addresses that looked like personal e-mail addresses. There was nothing in them. No message. No attachment.

They appear to me like what happens to e-mail containing a virus that was zapped by Norton before appearing in my home e-mail account. I believe those messages are safe.

Sooooooooooo.... do you think these Yahoo e-mails have been zapped by the Norton Anti-Virus that is supposed to always run on Yahoo e-mail? And what is showing up is what's left?

If a person were to get a virus in Yahoo e-mail, can it harm your computer at home, since the e-mail is based on the net? I wouldn't think so. And I am noting there were NO attachments. There were no messages, period.

Can anyone please confirm this and put my fears to rest? Thanks!!

I've had the empty email thing happen on yahoo several times, with no damage. They were unfamiliar email addresses, but made to look like personal messages.

abuse@yahoo.com
the will send you a response.
also all attachments are pre-scanned by yahoo..but who's to say how good this is...turn your spamgaurd on, and filter everything.
open the e-mails, but don't download the unfamiliar attachments...if stuff slips past the filter click on the tab **THIS IS SPAM** and **BLOCK ADDRESS**

Web-based email can harm your PC only if there are attachments that you open.

Ok, like I said, this looks as if something was removed from the e-mails. Am guessing by Yahoo's Norton (as opposed to my own). Just wanted confirmation of what I thought. NO, I DO NOT OPEN ATTACHMENTS FROM STRANGERS. lol, just sounds funny said like that

Shoot, I try not to even read e-mail from people I don't know, let alone open the attachments.
