You've Summitted Everest...
I'm sure the song most of us would prefer would be the wind and the peace.

But we're suspending reality here for a moment. If you had to have a soundtrack - what songs would you like playing as you survey Tibet and Nepal?

For starters - some that come to mind:
Amazing Grace - Mahalia Jackson
In God's Country - U2
Little Martha - Allman Brothers
Air - Bach
802 PM - For Squirrels
Litany - Guadalcanal Diary

how about U2, "Where the Streets Have No Name"?? (ok, can't think of all the lyrics)

Or, when I travel (and, after all, this would be the ultimate in traveling) I like to sing with Tom Cochrane's "Life Is A Highway" (hey, he mentions Kyber Pass!!)

GOOD ONE BUDDER!! LMAO

When I'm up top, I go for the traditional:

Oh the ocean waves do roll
And the Stormy Winds do blow
And we poor sailors
A-skippin' at the top
While the landlubbers lie down below! below! below!
While the lundlubbers lie down below!

Don't know who wrote it. Don't know if anyone knows. Don't care!

<GRIN>

(that's just the chorus; there are a TON of verses)

There is a season for everything or whatever that song title is and I can't remember who the band is either. It is originally a bible verse. Can someone figure this out for me? I'm brain dead.

Also, I wouldn't actually climb Everest, but that would be the song.

On the day I was born The nurses all gathered 'round
And they gazed in wide wonder At the joy they had found
The head nurse spoke up And she said leave this one alone
She could tell right away That I was bad to the bone
Bad to the bone Bad to the bone B-B-B-B-Bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad B-B-B-B-Bad Bad to the bone

I broke a thousand hearts Before I met you
I'll break a thousand more Baby Before I am through
I wanna be yours pretty baby Yours and yours alone
I'm here to tell ya honey That I'm bad to the bone
Bad to the bone B-B-B-Bad B-B-B-Bad B-B-B-Bad Bad to the bone

I make a rich woman beg I'll make a good woman steal
I'll make an old woman blush And make a young woman squeal
I wanna be yours pretty baby Yours and yours alone
I'm here to tell ya honey That I'm bad to the bone
B-B-B-B-Bad B-B-B-B-Bad B-B-B-B-Bad Bad to the bone

And when I walk the streets Kings and Queens step aside
Every woman I meet They all stay satisfied
I wanna tell ya pretty baby Well Ya see I make my own
I'm here to tell ya honey That I'm bad to the bone
Bad to the bone B-B-B-B-Bad B-B-B-Bad B-B-B-Bad Bad to the bone
