Since this thread kinda died, guess the deal is done. If anyone else needs some, I just bought a roll. Got 'bout 50-60 xtra ft. Was 9X150ft, and wound up costing $1.10 per foot, tax incl. If'n ya want some, let me know. I'm in TX . an it costed about $10.00 to send 50ft to So.Cal, via UPS ground-inna box, an 'bout $4.00 to send Sgt. Rock a 4X9 piece inna priority mail envelope, so I guess yer shipping would be summers 'tween them figgers.

How's this for a plan?????
Smoker, if you're close to TxWoodswoman, you could send some with her in a few weeks. She's coming to CA for the TT Sierra trip.

Looks like Phil, Rosey and I were the ones interested, and we'll all be there (I think). Didjfan, you could join us on this trip (if you're not already going) and get some too! Hmmm . . . I'm not sure who's going on this trip anymore.

Smoker - I got your email and replied. Looking for about 5x9 piece mailed to California. I would like to get mine before the Sierra trip so I can cut it to fit my Inyo 2 footprint.

Rosey just contacted me for some Tyvek. Reviewing the above thread, it seems that there has been a breakdown somewhere!

Bad roseymonster, bad.
No hard feelings, I'll blame it on your youth. :)
I had to flake out on the Sipsey and Old Farts AT trips, but at least I have a medical excuse.

Who is interested is Tyvek? The stuff makes great ground cloths and tent footprints. HPM made a nice tarp from some.
I'm thinking of buying an 9 foot (I think the real size is 8 foot 9 inch) wide roll house wrap grade and selling the excess here on TT at cost plus shipping. I wouldn't want to fool with a lenght any longer than I can get into a U. S. Priority Mail shipping box. I THINK that's about 12-14 feet.
The cost would be $1 to $2 a running foot plus $4 to $5 shipping.

Any interest?

We got all kind of responses to this thread the first time, but a certain person did not follow thru and actually buy a roll. ;-)

I will if I think I can sell off 60-70 feet.

Is 3 feet wide enough for most applications, or do you stitch it together somehow?

I got some the other day, this guy will cut out whatever square footage you need in whatever dimension you need from a 10 foot wide roll of the stuff.

Heck, I don't have the website handy, but I think it's posted on the "tarp" thread.

Goodling Outdoors or something like that.

He charges 30 cents per sq ft.

Tyvek makes a really good ground cloth, it's puncture resistent and super light weight. Also makes a good "floor" for a tarp tent.

Also almost water proof, actually it is, but that kinda wears according to some folks, but it takes a lot of use and abuse, so I hear/believe.

Take it from "Tyvek Tanya" it's good stuff. But you have to wash it a couple of times to quiet it down. Now if they only made it in camo, it is real hard to stealth camp with a big white sail.
