No, that's not my pack weight
That's the weight of all my da** food. 10 days worth, for me and my dog, solo on the superior hiking trail. I've decided to make my way to the trail, instead of isle royale, for expenses, and the fact that i can bring my dog along. I just finished packing my food, now i just have to get it all in my pack...

Well... this is my first real solo trip, for 10 days, alone in the wilderness, me and my dog. I'm so excited, am I ready for this... i sure hope so.

It has to start somewhere
It has to start some time
What better place than here
What better time than now

i leave tomorrow noon, wish me luck

Do you have the saddlebag-style "backpack" for your poochie? Make him/her carry his/her own food!

The second or third night is always the worst for me. I think it takes that long to adjust for lack of human contact.

Good Luck!!

I thought about doing a week, solo. I'm not sure I'd enjoy it. I'd probably pick a busy trail, for the first time. Just in case I get sick of my own company.

Good luck. You're not alone if the dog's with you. At least you'll have some one to talk to who won't argue(much).

That's not bad for the two of you.....pretty darn good actually.

Good to hear your concerned about your dog and the pack....when the time comes, make sure the dog see's that he's carrying his food and not yours...a buddy of mine tried to get his dog to carry his beer, when the dog realized that it wasn't for him he wouldn't move (smart dog)...be sure to use zip locks in the dog pack, they sometimes have a habit of jumping in the water with the packs on., makes a mess of the food.

Have a great time, good luck
Stay safe
