Keep it simple the first time. As I recall the thing comes with a book, with a number of jerky recipes. Try one of those. After a few "experiments" the options are endless.

a hat and a vest?? LOL!

(i think. is it because she's a "little kid," and hence needs smaller clothes? if so, do kids wear vests and hats? i always hated vests. it's a funny picture, though! but i digress...)

I was doing good with jerky before I tried dirty dancing on wet rocks. I will make more jerky when I get my leg back, and then some apples. After that, perhaps some meals, after which I will probably be looking at spring hikes and who knows what?

Since we're playing with words here, I'd just like to point out that "Beef Dirty" doesn't sound very appetizing at all.

deja vu all over again eh?

you try eggs yet???
don't cook them first though..and don't use the tray liner..
they should dehydrate nicely inside the shell or if you want you can crack them into the machine

For Starters...
Try apple sauce and/or your favorite flavor of yogurt. Dried speghetti sauce comes in handy on the trail.

I think that you should make some real cool beef jerky with it.
