A.T. Walkingstick almost at goal “Well, I know some of you are aware of my little pet project. I created a walkingstick and set it off from Springer Mountain with a random hiker - the goal was to be pased from hiker to hiker and travel the length of the A.T. My last contact with the stick was back on May 30th, and after 3 months of not hearing a word - I was about to write it off as missing in action. I was even going to acquire another piece of wood to try making another walkingstick. However, out of the blue - I got a letter yesterday. The walkingstick has traveled 1,887.4 miles and is now located at the New Hampshire/Main Boarder. The current hiker plans on keeping it till the end and is only 200+ miles away. Take a look at its progress and all the updates to the webpage: http://home.earthlink.net/~mkrafick/walkingstick/ -Saltlick” 1:32:20 PM 9/10/02 “That's pretty cool!
