My son has been in the Cub Scouts for 2 years. At the end of last year a little boy joined the pack. His name is John Muir. I thought I knew that name from some where but I did not want to be rude and ask alot of questions. But this year my husband and myself are taking over the club. So I got up the nerve to ask his mother. Guess what?
The little boy is John Muir the 5th. That blew my mind. His father is so sweet and involved in so many things here in Brooklyn NY. My son went to his sci. camp this past summer and he had a great time.
I have yet to talk to him about his family and can't wait to do so.
But it's a small world sometimes.
But it's an honor to have John Muir's relative in my Cub Scout troop.

ps.. lets hope I don't screw it up :)

That's very cool. Don't worry bout screwin up. All you have to do is care and put in some effort and scouts will have fun. Everyone who reads your stuff can tell you care.

Im looking forward to this year with the kids. But if it was all up to me i'd have them out in the woods with nothing but a blanket and a knife....

Potty Mouth teaching Cub Scouts?
You going to clean up your act?
He He

That's very cool you are going to do this. Good adult leaders that know real outdoor values for scouts are hard to find.

Poor kid-It is kinda like being JFK Jr-or Ansel Adams Jr.-
My advice would to be to let him make his own way.
Is Dad Jon Muir IV?

Way cool!
