“Just a thought..when I was at Old Orchard Shelter last month..there was no water in the spring..that was early Sep..might want to look into it..”

“I was looking through the Sept. issue of Backpacker Mag. when I noticed the article about the 10 most scenic privies. The #2 rated privy is the one at the Thomas Knob shelter which is located on Mt. Rogers. This will be a good pic to put on a photo ablum. Get on the throne and start taking pics for a 360° view.”

i once sat down and figured out that it's cheaper for me to go backpacking on the weekends than stay home.
it only costs gas and food to go hiking and i eat anyway and if i go out once that costs more than my gas usually.”

“Yes, it is 98% at least. When I go down, it is pretty much 48 hours of almost total immobility, then all of a sudden...I am 90% OK. So I was pretty good by Friday, Saturday I was at the Rock Gym bileting my boys, then shot some hoops with my daughter, Sunday went for a run, Monday spinning, today...doctor said go get an MRI. He has no reason to think they'll see anything, just trying to rule out a structural problem.
