“you are correct. i put it backwards. sorry about that. are you going in the park entrance or is that your plan if you arrive saturday? if you want to park near the fox creek horse camp and hike up saturday morning it is a pretty easy hike to the old orchard shelter.

“when you hike in Friday night are you hiking from the trailhead in the park or what? my thought is I will hike in when I get there. no better time than the present. I don't mind hiking in the dark I just hate driving around looking for the trailhead (ask WD about that, I'm notorious)”

“yes, we will be hiking in in the dark friday night. i'm sure you could do it no problem. i don't think the trail will be hard to find. take exit 45 off I-81. 16 south to troutdale. turn right on 603. it is ~4 miles, parking on the left. there is a picnic area right in that area also, and a horse camp. the parking area has a bulletin board and trail register and i think (but don't quote me) wooden type rails around it.”
