Listening to him call a game during the NHL season is just painful. He's always getting people's names wrong, calling the wrong play (whistled on the 2-line pass when it's offside) etc.

Anyone else feel the same?”

TORONTO - Bill Daly, NHL Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, today released the following statement:

"We are extremely disappointed with what the Union presented to us today. Not only did the Union's proposal fail to move the process toward a resolution but, in fact, represented a step backwards in the process.

"As we predicted, two weeks ago in Ottawa, the Union has simply repackaged its original unacceptable and ineffective proposal from 15 months ago -- and even watered it down. Even under the Union's modeling and projections, which we do not agree with or accept, more than half of our Clubs would still lose money and nearly a third of the Clubs would still lose in excess of $10 million each season.

"Nothing more clearly demonstrates the Union's unwillingness to acknowledge or meaningfully address this League's problems than this recycled proposal.

"No further meetings are scheduled at this time."”

“GOD, I wish, wish, wish with all my heart that my high school would have had a team. I probably would have tried out (even if it was a boys team). We had a girl try out for the football team once. You could be a volunteer coach, that would totally rock!”

I have on the Boston University/Vermont college hockey game now. It's not the NHL, but better than nothing. It's also better than seeing my BoSox getting trampled on early.”

December 30, 2004, 8 p.m. – Trailing two games to one in the 1991 Stanley Cup finals against Minnesota, the Penguins turn in a tremendous clutch performance in Game 4 at the Met Center, evening the series with a 5-3 victory, May 21, 1991. Lemieux, Ron Francis and Bryan Trottier are among the goal-scorers, and Barrasso makes 35 saves to earn the first star (Please note this broadcast is on a Thursday night).

January 6, 2005, 8 p.m. – In the midst of their NHL record-breaking 17-game winning streak in 1993, the powerhouse Penguins destroy the rival Flyers, 9-3, on home ice on March 20, 1993. Lemieux scores four goals – giving him back-to-back four-goal games – and Francis has five points in the romp. Rick Tocchet, Joe Mullen and Jagr also score, and the Pens go 4-for-6 on the power play. It’s the ’92-’93 Penguins at their dominant best.
