Fleury played a great game. Without his efforts it never would have gotten to overtime.

And the kid is for real. He's improved since the first game when I saw him. He still has a lot to learn, but he is learning. He sure turned on the juice on that breakaway. If it had not been the Flyers he did it against, I would have been cheering for him instead of hoping he fanned on the shot.”

Damn zebras called a very weak hooking penalty on Hatcher with under two to go, giving the Canes a three-man advantage with an open net. Canes scored to draw within one.

Then Gagne was very obviously hooked and dropped on his face on a breakaway toward the empty net: no call!

Hitch was furious, but he couldn't talk about it for fear of being suspended. Okay, so he talked about it by saying he couldn't talk about the call on Hatcher, or the call that wasn't made when Gagne was tripped.

“Rangers hang on to beat the 'Canes 4-3 this afternoon, putting them back into Atlantic Division first place. It's nice to see that the Rangers can bounce back after gettting taken to skool the way they did on Thursday night.

But much to the Hurricanes' credit, they launched an impressive comeback attempt scoring 2 goals in last half of the third period. This team is absolutely awesome with their speed and coordination and should never be taken lightly.”
