They've had quite a few key injuries lately and it's time for them to let everyone know they're not going to put up with cheap shots.” 10:45:05 AM 2/23/07 “That was a great fight!” 11:39:12 AM 2/23/07 “You went to a fight and a hockey game broke out??? Lessee, next up for two points is the Moping Leeches, Saturday night. Two (count 'em) freebies!” 1:16:27 PM 2/23/07 “Here's my end of the season predictions for the eastern conference. I guess only time will tell if I’m right. 1 Buffalo 120 pts 2 New Jersey 113 pts 3 Tampa Bay 102 pts 4 Pittburgh 109 pts 5 Ottawa 101 pts 6 New York Islanders 95 pts 7 Toronto 92 pts 8 Boston 90 pts” 2:53:12 PM 2/23/07 “I can confidently predict that the Flutters will not lose tonight. Today's the Flutters Wives' Fight for Life Carnival. It's one sure win during any season.” 9:19:16 AM 2/25/07 “The Aisle Enders take two tonight. It's 4-1 after the first period, so I'm not exactly making a big prediction, but if I had predicted before the game, I'd have said the same thing. So we now have a young team that is rebuilding. At least the losing makes sense.” 7:21:50 PM 2/27/07 “The Flutters made some interesting moves today . . .” 8:03:02 PM 2/27/07 “Thank GOD we didn't give up all our great players. Though sorry to lose Noah Welch. We got some tough guys and I think we just traded for an ancient guy Gary Roberts: he's 40! OMG Anyway let's hope it helps us for the RUN FOR THE CUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!” 8:14:18 PM 2/27/07 “Its Tango season!!!” 8:15:18 PM 2/27/07 “Whoo Hoo, Marty gets SO # 12 for the season. Sorry Tango, well not really. ;-)” 8:59:49 PM 2/27/07 “The Flutters made it interesting before the game ended, but taking penalties in OT is not good hockey. They were down one and were about to be called for another when the Aisle Enders put an end to their misery. Interesting moves indeed. If these kids can gel in the remaining games to any degree it might hold some promise for next season, depending on how they do in the draft. But there are no Sidney Crosbys out there this season. Some creep named Tango took the only one there was.” 8:02:29 AM 2/28/07 I can still say . . . “Go Sabres!!” 1:34:49 PM 2/28/07 “Yes ... Go Sabres ... and don't come back!” 3:08:25 PM 2/28/07 “Will the banged up Sabres be fully healed come playoff time?” 3:11:58 PM 2/28/07 “Who knows. Despite a rash of injuries they're 7-2-1 in their last 10. They scored 6 goals last night with 8 regulars out of the lineup including: Briere, Afinegenov, Conolly and Gaustad. They just picked up Zubrus and his style suits the team well.” 4:03:13 PM 2/28/07 “Whoo Hoo, Marty gets SO # 12 for the season. Sorry Tango, well not really. ;-)” lumberzac 9:59:49 PM 2/27/07 Yeah, it was bitter sweet for me, HE is my goalie for my fantasy team, so it took a little of the sting away. Marty looked great some of the stops were AMAZING!!!” 5:53:05 PM 2/28/07 “Biron gets his first start for the black and orange tonight against the Boston Bluets. We'll see how long he goes before he's shell-shocked.” 10:59:18 AM 3/01/07 “He'll definitely be shelled, but he's got to be better than what you've been working with so far.” 11:01:31 AM 3/01/07 “Nittymaki is a good goalie. He's still suffering from a groin pull early in the season. It has not had a chance to heal. I'm not sure what's going on with Esche. In the Islanders game, Nittymaki was hung out to dry by his own teammates. The Isles were walking right on in and blasting it at him from point-blank range. Still, if it weren't for his injury he would probably have stopped two of the four that went in in the first period. From that point on, he kept them in the game. When the defense just evaporates, that's not on the goalie.” 11:35:03 AM 3/01/07 “Today's the day Geo!” 11:34:54 AM 3/04/07 “Yes it is. The Phillies play the Yankees. And the Waddles get two points (but maybe not).” 11:38:50 AM 3/04/07 “NO NO NO, it's the PENGUINS against some other PA team. Sid is the youngest player to reach 200 points!!! Bye bye Gretz.” 11:47:27 AM 3/04/07 “SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTT!!!” 2:15:04 PM 3/04/07 “WE WIN!!!! THE PENGUINS WIN!!!!!” 2:28:03 PM 3/04/07 “Well gollllly, can you imagine? It took a shootout.” 5:16:39 PM 3/04/07 “ummm other than the game what did the Penguins win? a spot in the playoffs?” 5:25:46 PM 3/04/07 “They are in the playoffs if the season ended now. I'm not sure on home ice advantage situation, but every point helps. And plus it's fun to watch them win!!!! Good to see you HOI.” 5:34:28 PM 3/04/07 “Hey Geo!! Heard from any strident idiots..........lately?” 5:39:51 PM 3/04/07 “Good to see you too Tango” 6:08:29 PM 3/04/07 “Just Tango rubbin it in, MarkO” 6:41:47 PM 3/04/07 “Somebody pinch me. The scores today say that the Flutters knocked off the Armpit Boys. Is it true?” 10:58:42 AM 3/07/07 “True indeed. Almost stopped my heart. Gagne scored in OT on a second shot from the rebound. Brodeur had no chance. Right under his outstretched leg and into the far corner of the goal.” 11:41:03 AM 3/07/07 “It actually doesn't surprise me that much. For some reason the Flyers play well against the Devils. The Devils have won all the game, up until last night, but not by very much. Added to that is the Devils have gotten into a bit of a slump the past few games. Hopefully they start playing a little better (preferable starting Thursday night with a win over the Penguins).” 11:52:44 AM 3/07/07 “It's impossible to beat the Penguins. They have Morgan Freeman going for them.” 12:00:53 PM 3/07/07 “That didn't seem to help them last Tuesday. ;-)” 12:12:10 PM 3/07/07 “Morgan took the day off no doubt.” 12:22:08 PM 3/07/07 The LAS VEGAS PENGUINS “PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Penguins owner Ron Burkle traveled to Las Vegas on Wednesday to meet with the mayor and discuss the possibility of relocating the team there. Burkle, who lives in Los Angeles, led a delegation in talks with Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman, according to Penguins spokesman Tom McMillan. 2 1/2 hour drive away...Mmmmmmmm!!!! Maybe I'm not so against this moving stuff after all! Morgan Freeman???? HUH???” 8:10:38 PM 3/07/07 “Looks like the Pens couldn't seal the deal last night even after the Devils gave them two goals. Hopefully this makes the end of the funk the Devils have been in lately.” 11:25:19 AM 3/09/07 “They escaped by the skin of their teeth! It wasn't all bad for me since My Love Martin is my fantasy hockey goalie. We're on the war path now!!! Watch out!!!” 6:18:05 PM 3/09/07 “Oh now you've done it Zac. Hell hath no fury like a Tango scorned. Look at how she put the evil eye on my Flutters. They can't even get off the ground - just hobble around in circles.” 7:31:44 PM 3/09/07 Penguins star becomes youngest in NHL history with “Pittsburgh Penguins teenager Sidney Crosby became the youngest player in NHL history with two 100-point seasons when he scored a goal Saturday against the New York Rangers. Crosby, who does not turn 20 until August 7, tallied a power-play goal 6:56 into the third period to tie the game at 2. He has 28 goals and 72 assists in 65 games this season after posting 39 goals and 63 assists for 102 points last year as a rookie. WOO HOO!!!! Still I wish we'd win one in regulation.” 3:34:02 PM 3/10/07 “OMG, the Flutters beat the Prunes.” 9:38:41 AM 3/11/07 “Akkkkk! It looks like the Sabres' injuries have finally caught up to them. Will they rebound in time to push through the playoffs? Or will they fall off and die?” 9:09:26 AM 3/12/07 “They have on guaranteed win on the last game of the season.” 11:13:10 AM 3/12/07 “Looks like the Pens are going to stay in Pittsburgh. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=290426&page=NewsPage&service=page Penguins, government agree on new arena Associated Press Mar 13, 2007, 8:39 AM EDT HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -The Penguins reached a deal on financing for a new arena that will keep the NHL team in Pittsburgh. The agreement - with city, county and state officials - was announced by Gov. Ed Rendell on Tuesday at the Pennsylvania Gaming Congress. He said money from the state's new slot machine parlors would help fund the arena. The Penguins had threatened to leave Pittsburgh if they couldn't secure a new rink. Their lease at 46-year-old Mellon Arena, the oldest facility in the league, expires June 30 and the team is free to leave after that. The Penguins began playing in Pittsburgh in 1967, and won Stanley Cup titles in 1991 and 1992. Their home attendance and local TV ratings are among the strongest of the NHL's 24 U.S. franchises.” 1:53:53 PM 3/13/07 “Good! Now we won't have to hear Tango cry.” 2:12:07 PM 3/13/07 Yeah right! “Hockey fans DO NOT CRY!!! It's the end of the first period and what a heck of a game!!! Some great saves by Fleury!!!” 7:15:50 PM 3/13/07 “Fleury had no chance on that last goal. Ouch!” 8:08:06 PM 3/13/07 “Come on Pit, and don't let this go to OT.” 9:04:27 PM 3/13/07 Jump to Page << prev
