It's Hockey Season!!

Anaheim could be a contender, but they have yet to play games against both Detroit and Dallas, both playoff contenders. On top of that, they'd have to leap-frog 3 other teams.

Detroit and Nashville could be contenders, but they have yet to play each other, and I think they also both have games against Dallas, another playoff contender.

Buffalo, on the other hand, currently leads the race, has just one game left against a surging Pittsburgh, one game against a slumping New Jersey, and the rest against "bunny" teams.

I'd have to say Buffalo is going to take this, only because the western contenders have too many games left against each other...

First of all we have 3 kids under 22 who have scored near 30 goals each (Sidney Crosby 35 goals, Evgeni Malkin 33 goals and Jordan Staal 29 goals). If Jordan scores 1 more goal it is a new record.

Second Marc-Andre Fleury who is 23 is 4th in the NHL in wins and 7th in the NHL in shut outs

Third Evgeni Malkin leads all rookies in goals and Jordan Staal is 2nd.

Fourth Evgeni leads the rookies in GWG’s and Jordan is tied for 4th in the same category.

Fifth Evgeni leads the rookies in ave goals per game (> than 1 game played) and Jordan Staal is 3rd.

Sixth (and last I'm getting tired of typing) Jordan Staal leads the league in short handed goals Maxim Talbot is tied for 3rd.

We have a bunch of other really good young players (Malone, Christensen, Eaton, Armstrong, and Orpik) and we have some good older player (Recchi, Roberts).

And you can take a deep breath since I will let you live since I am such a good mood since we are in the playoffs!!!

Not necessarily considering the Devils seem to have a different head coach every year. I didn’t expect Julien to be coaching for the Devils next year, but I am baffled by why he was fired now and not after the season ended or a few weeks ago when they were in the middle of their slump.”
