“Actually, the Habs outplayed the Flutters through the first two periods. They were more organized, moved to the puck better, and made the Flutters' power play look like they were skating even.

The Flutters came out smoking in the third, but still could not get a decent shot on net that Hackett didn't snag easily.

The overtime period was the usual flurry of rushes, few shots on goal, Hackett making more saves look easy.

Then came Williams' breakaway.

Cechmanek also made some key saves to keep the game even, but I think Hackett made a ton of key saves in the third and overtime periods.”

“We had a semi pro team in Asheville and they went bankrupt. I was just getting into it. :(

I'm going to miss the Great Lakes Invitational hockey tournament this year. Bummer. We Tech grads go less for the hockey (since our team has sucked in the last 10 or so years) and more for the alumni reunion.”

“Back when Nashville had minor league hockey I went all the time. Now we have the Predators and I have only been twice in 5 yrs. I find the NHL games at least the Predators games to be boring.
I think for action the minor leagues have a lot more than the NHL does.
I will be going on Jan 4th to watch the Blackhawks beat the Predators.”

“Smiley, we lived in L'Anse & Alberta for 14 years and I worked out of Houghton, so we made as many Huskies games as the weather allowed. Unfortunately, no superior teams while we there either. Still, we follow their progress and keep on hoping.

In the meantime, the Wings are doing well . . . a fact CMB is sooooooooo glad of.”

“Geezr, I had season tickets 3 of the 4 years I was at Tech. Good times, even if the team wasn't the best. The crowd is pretty lively, especially with that band!”

We had the bullets then they left and we got the Lizard Kings and they left too. Left went belly up I'm not sure. I think the current team is the Barracudas.

Problem is that I can never make the games.”

“Bruins/Senators tonight. Boston usually beats up (phyisicaly) on Ottawa. Last year they beat the #&%!$ out of them. Ottawa's got some speed, but not much size. We'll see what happens.”
