I'm going to try hard this year to get into hockey. It looks like a great sport, I just don't know too much about it. Once I'm more familiar with the teams and players, I'm sure it'll all fall into place.

You know.......
Detroit is going to keep Stanley right where it belongs again.....

right here!

So, watch all the games, keep records of all the stats, but remember: it all comes down to the Play-offs!

Heh heh heh!

Okay, I've whittled down my potential favorite team down to two organizations within a 6-hour drive-time radius of me: The Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadians. Which one should I like more and why?

Boston and Montreal have a big rivilary over many years. Montreal has won more stanley cups than anyone else, and they had to get there thru the Bruins. Both teams are basically rebuilding. I say go with Boston, to help Americans what hockey is all about.

GO RED WINGS from all their fans?!?

Oh, and you know that that's what this seasons picture will look like again this year....(nice one Geezr)!

Sound off your favorite team!

One other thing, don't wear a Boston Jersey in Montreal or vice versa, you would be asking for trouble.

If you live in NY you have the Sabres, Rangers, Islanders. Why don't you pick one of them? Boston and Buffalo are also arch enemies.

The only NY team I like is the Yankees. I tend to root against the other NY teams across the board. I'm not sticking around the area too much longer (basically because I hate it), so I don't want to make another NY team my favorite.

Go Bruins!!!

So it looks like your going with the Bruins. Don't wear any kind of Yankees stuff to a Bruins game, the chances you getting nailed is more likely than at a Red Sox game.
Glad to have another Bruins fan around.

Kris Draper arrived at Red Wings training camp in Traverse City this week and he already had 35 fresh stitches in his lip. You gotta love it.

I can't wait for Hockey Night in Canada to start back up.

Yeah, having to Boston a few times, I know to leave my cap in the trunk when I'm in the area! My goal of moving to New England, likely Maine, makes the Bruins a logical choice. Most people in the New England states tend to route for the Boston teams, so as a preemptive move, I'll do the same.

Insert a "been" between "having" and "to" in my last post. I hate when I forget a word!
Artex

Boston fans regardless of team have a wide range of other states routing for them. Boston fans are some of the most loyal/dedicated/knowledgable fans in the world. When Hartford was still around, there were more Bruin fans than Whalers at the games. Another heated rivilary.

NEW SEASON-NEW THREAD!
Artex- Glad to have a convert! It is almost impossible to really enjoy the game on TV. Going to games is the way for all the pieces to fall into place, because you can actually watch the play develop whereas on television they follow the puck almost exclusively.

I am a huge fan of hockey!! The Rangers just acquired my favorite player...Darius Kasparaitus!! Defense. He is going to be great there.

The Penguins are going to have a tough year. Craig Patrick has done nothing but hurt the team with his trades.

Go Penguins!!

Actually, the phrase is "Drop the puck"...but the refs really do throw the puck onto the ice...and then lift their hand outta the way real quick, before the players hack it off with their sticks.

I have home phone numbers and addresses of some TT folks. I'll be in touch because I'll still be hiking. See you out there!
