Hey Matt . . .Frustration

I seem to have a problem with the threads loading all the way. When I click on a thread, all of the hedings will come up (the green banner with thebackpacker.com, and Trail talk . . .but not the actual posts.

Most times if I hit my "back" button and then try again, the posts will show.

SOMETIMES when I hit my back button, the list of threads doesn't even come back up. Then I have to go back to favorites and click on backpacker.com, select "show one day" etc al over again.

Just seems to take more time to negotiate than it did a few weeks ago.

2. The time of the last post on thread has dissappeared when they are listed in the one day format. That is, beside the name of the thread, to the right, used to be the time of the last post. It is gone.

“That's weird. I still see the time of the last post in the 'last posters' list but the page has been hanging up occasionally for me too. 'Refresh' usually makes it load OK.”

I see the time on the "Last posters" list . . .but not directly beside the list of threads . . the lat posteres list only runs for . . .what, the last ten folks . . .and can sometimes have multiple entires for an active thread. . . .the time indicators I am refering are beside the thread title and tell you when that particular thread was last posted to.”

“when i click a name in the last posters box i don't goto that post..i go to the very first msg of that thread..even if it's 2000 msg's long..”

“Matt, I have noticed that TT is really taking a long time to load. If I click on a thread it takes almost a minute to appear. It is doing the same at home or at work.
I have went to other websites with no problems.

Anyone else notice this.”

“still going slow for me 90% of the time. I did hit a spot where it loaded fast then slowed down again.

Wishing I could find some good molasses that thick. the new stuff is like syrup.”

“It's the CIA and FBI who are tracking Buddha Bear on this site that are causing the slowdowns. After the election things may speed up again, depending on Buddha Bear's response in November.”

“Yep, it was dragging earlier this morning.”

“Yeah, it drags occassionally for me too. I randomly check the site, sometimes its fast, sometimes its not. I thought it was because Big Brother was watching me. :)”

“I can't post. I write out my little blurb and click on the Submit Message button, the screen goes blank and nothing happens.”

“That Avenue A stuff came up as spyware by my spyware blocker. I don't know if it's cause of here or what. Thought you should know.

“Matt, everytime I load the site or go to a thread, I get notified that "doubleclick" tried to run and was blocked. Sometimes Avenue A also comes up. Lately I've been asked if I want to let Active X programs run, when I bring up a page. My home computer was recently fried by spyware, and required formating the hard drive. For that reason I am WAY reluctant to lower my systems' vigilance to spyware and adware. I hope you can fix this, or I won't be able to participate on this site, which I would miss. Thanks for considering this.

“A thread search for Isle Royale does not find Isle Royale Mooseapalooza (v 1.1), which is a trip thread. I don't believe that there is a separate search for trips.”

“Hog On Ice - That string was one of several associated with the trip. The "Trips" page string was: Isle Royale Mooseapalooza (v 1.1)

Matt - It appears that none of the "Trip" strings are included in the thread search. At least, two of them. I did a check searching for an upcoming trip and a previous trip and neither appeared in the search results.
