Maple: You reminded me of an old joke. A priest, a minister and a Rabbi at an interfaith conference are asked: "if you could hear people talking at your funeral, what would you want them to say?"

The Priest says, "Father was a good and humble man who inspired me with faith, whose very presence reminded to say the rosary faithfully and to love the Savior."

The Minister says, "He was a devout and kind pastor, who lived a life of dedication to God, to Jesus and to his flock."

The Rabbi was silent for a moment
and then answered, "Oh my goodness, look he's moving!!!!"
The Minister says,

Hannity:

3PM - 6PM eastern WABC
9pm-10pm Eastern FoxNews - TVshow

I don't think Hannity bullies his guests. I've never thought of him to be a rough debater like o'rielly. Hannity has a few tricks op his sleeve. One he asks the persons he is debating questions that will lead them to his slant on an issue. This tactice has proven very effecteve by the Harvard Negotiation project. Buy bring someone to come up with an answer that agrees with you.

Ped, you say that people should not read books just to load their guns. But that is the point of debate. Understand that the object of a debate is to entertain a 3rd party, and to convince the 3rd party of your belife. The object of a negotiation is to maintain a healthy relationship with a 2nd party or your advasary in the process of getting them to believe what you do, also a negatiaters objective is to get a resolution that fixes the problem. Now when I am debating in my history class about an issue that is being desussed in the Senate, is it my objective to fix the problem, or to gain supporters (the 3rd party or fellow classmates and teachers)?

The answer is, I am debating, I during a debate I am trying to fix no problem, I am simply entertaining (in sean hannity's case) and hopefully gaining 3rd party support. I have absolutly no intention to fix the problem, simply because I am not a Seniter who has the power to fix a problem of a large scale.

But do not get me wrong my fellow American. If it was me in congress my debates would end the day I was ellected, and my negotiation would being, in hopes of find resolutions to problems that satisfy the intentions of each side of the argument.

PS: I have been studdeing debate/negotiation for quite some time now.

Do you really believe that or did you just search rationalradical for something to attack him with?

Just wondering if you are serious or chain jerking again.

I find it interesting that the Rationalradical never states his religious convictions (not that I have seen anyway). I guess that makes it easier to point out others failings (percieved or otherwise) when you either don't have religious convictions or choose to not reveal them while dissecting others.

I would also like to point out that the bible (or any text for the matter) is easily manipulated by taking passages out of the totality of the work.

All points of the argument stated on rationalradical can be refuted in Hannitys favor if you read the rest of the bible.

If you believe that arguement please state what exactly you do to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, aid the sick and welcome the stranger.

If you like I can go first.
Step up please.

I don’t really feel the need to justify my religious convictions or detail my acts of charity.

I do have a problem with people who say that those who care about others are not only wrong but also a danger to our nation. His call to cultural warfare is brilliant. I’m sure Hannity will be a hugely successful with his divisive message and willingness to cut off others with whom he disagrees. It is a time-tested formula in talk radio.

But you feel that he needs to justify his? If you are going to call someone out on that level then be prepared to get in it also. That arguement implys that the one making the accusations isn't a hypocrite.

When attacking questions of morals the attacker needs to be above reproach.

Don't get me wrong, I do agree completely with your last statement (although not to whom you attribute it) but I am simply trying to make a point here.

Baby still keeping you up at night HPM?

Are you saying its OK for Hannity to attack liberals and call their ideas dangerous because he is above reproach?

I kind of like this review of his new book that I found at amazon.com:

Hannity rules, September 16, 2002
Reviewer: A reader from Chicago

What a great book! This book is the perfect companion to talk radio - which I love. For years, my favorite author was Rush Limbaugh because when an issue was too complicated for me to figure out myself, he told me what to think. Now Sean has been handed the baton and this book proves how smart he really is. I hate the fact that liberals in this country think the constitution gives them the right to speak their mind or present a different side to an issue. The thesis throughout this book just proves how ridiculous middle ground and compromise are in todays black and white world. Thanks Sean for showing how evil the liberals truly are! Move over Rush, Sean's book is now the place I go to tell me how to think !

Yes, she's only three weeks old, it's her job.

Absolutely not, no one is immune. We find answers by honesty discussing issues, but I find that line of arguement disingenuous when used by anyone who objects to it being used against them in turn.

Change the names and that review could be used about anyone holding differing viewpoints.

It's interesting that no matter what our views those who disagree are brain washed mind numbed robots that are told what to think.

Surely he has seen this by now: SEAN HANNITY’S PROBLEM WITH THE TRUTH

Yet on last night’s Hannity & Colmes, Sean repeated this lie yet again. I can only conclude that he has no regard for the truth and will lie as often as he feels necessary to advance his career.

And why does he have a problem with Daschle calling talk radio hosts ‘entertainers’? I thought that’s what Rush always calls himself when people accuse him of being a hate monger.

It's called "say anything", because too many people will take it as truth without listening to anyone else. If you shout loud enough, you can drown out anyone, even those who tell the truth.

I saw the Hannity/Limbaugh interview. Actually, they seemed pleased to be called entertainers, it would increase the interest in their shows. I don't think they like being accused of inciting violence. Colmes was on Rush's side with this issue.

Hannity's thing about Willie Horton is odd, and will probably eventually come back to bite him. I often agree with him, but on occassion he gets stuck on a rail and can't seem to get off. The good part of the show is that Colmes is there, and now calls him on it whenever he gets a chance.

ah' Violin, shut your hole!

Hannity didn't like that Dashel feels the republicans have an "edge" because of talk radio. Think about it. All national news networks are to the left, all major newspapers saw to the left (except the Post), most educators slant to the left so what more do you libs want. Talk radio is our only sancuary for right wing belifes. The teachers instill liberal belifes in children so from day one the right has to convert people, while all the left has to do is get them to vote. Your party has the "edge" not the republicans. BTW talk radio is not all republicans; NPR, Lin Samules, Mario Como....

I've seen that site before. Infact I did a search on Sean Hannity through yahoo and read alot of the websites that have negitive stuff against him. Either the site has no credability, or what they say is not fact at all, just oppinions. But atlest I have taken the time to view what people say about him that don't like him, and I have found that it is generaly gelliouse libs.

dashel and co. are threatened by opposing viewpoints. they did their studies on the recent elections and found that talk radio is hurting them bad. so they are gonna try and discredit them, to the point of lying. does anybody think that hannity or rush or micheal savage or neil bortz don't get threats form radical left-wingers? will dashel's comments be responsible for people threating the talk radio guys? this will only hurrt him politically and drive more listeners to talk radio. BRAVO!

Tea – If you’ll read the Daily Howler link or do a search on the issue, you’ll find that Hannity is not the only one repeating the Gore/Horton fiction. Even some filthy, no-good, godless, bed-wetting ‘libs’ have including Bill Bradley and the left-leaning New York Times. If not corrected, these lies take on a life of their own.

What I am pointing out is that Hannity has been corrected on this and has had time to research the issue yet persists in telling a useful lie. I really don’t see how you can defend that.

What Hannity said…

"They ... raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside."

What Kerry said…

“They told stories that at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.”

“told stories that at times they had personally” was omitted from the front and “of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.”

How does this make him a big fat liar? Hell, in comparing the two it seems as though Kerry’s own words are more damning than Hannity’s.
