“shi!!ts been hitting the fan the last couple days, well between Thurs. Fri. last week and today I dont feel like livin some times!

But I need to deal with it!

Im trying to plan for a DRIVE up to the Catskills leaving Thurs. or Fri. night just to hike! I just need to get open for Monday FIRST! That means busting my @ss and getting cought up around here.

maple the city beat will be continued in a few more weeks. Id rather hike right know and save the tourism scene w/ the wife! Not that I dont want to come, I just cant pull anything with sh!!t splattering all over the ceiling! Ifin you know what I mean!

“Rain, schmain!!! It didn't stop me last weekend, nor will it likely stop me this weekend. Besides, it's too early in the week for an accurate weekend forecast. I wouldn't cancel your plans just yet, and monitor the weather every day through accuweather.com and the National Weather Service's website. :-)”

“The rain was needed. The wide deep creeks were almost completely dried up in central PA before the rain. And I got to test my Nallo in heavy prolonged downpour. No leaks, no condensation, only thing is I would have liked to put a tarp up over the door so I could enjoy the view of the rain instead of hiding behind the vestibule.”

“rain or no rain, Sat and Sun with two non backpacking friends. I would have joined trips w/ Artex, or invited others, but don't want to be held responsible for ruining any trips if my friends whine, dehydrate, break anything or die. I'll be going at their pace too, which will make for a slow trip- They might want to turn around and leave halfway up the first mountain. Screw the rain, that's why we have waterproof gear anyway, right?”

I need time off soon, Like this weekend WV trip, but Im running away for a week to New Mexico to get some hikeing in and visit the brother n law. Leave October 17!!!!!”

“We are getting some nice rain the last couple of days. If we are really lucky we'll get some of the leftovers of the hurricane headed for Texas. Its pretty nice right now. I was in the Sandias Sunday, glorious day. Typical New Mexico fall.”

“The weather here has also made an abrupt change. It has been cloudy for two days and the temp in OC this moment is 60. It never got to 70 yesterday. I didn't see smoke coming from the Angeles, and I believe it probably rained in the Santa Ana's. Saddleback was covered with some pretty serious clouds. We got a smidgeon of rain this past weekend. We need a lot more. I sure wish it would pour so the Angeles would re-open. There's nothing better than hiking through miles and miles of ashes...what a shame...:(”
