It's simply a matter of treating people right even when they don't treat me right. I have no idea what's going on their life at the time they are being a jackass and I don't want to judge anyone. I actually make excuses for them in my mind. I get cut off on the interstate I think, "Hey, that's OK you must be in a hurry and need to get there faster than me. go on with yo bad self.". If someone is short with me I think, "Hey, maybe their dog died this morning or they are going through a divorce or they lost their job...". On and on. This way I don't fall into the sin of judging them and I try even harder to make their day better.

Not always easy but it keeps me happy and singing all day.

Sometimes I do that Nigal, and sometimes they simply are Jerks or Bit**es and then I remember my mother's old line, "butter wouldn't melt in my mouth". There are woman from a certain foreign country I won't name here that is a class or caste based society and they find it very easy to treat all of us in the store as "less than". They are very cold and very rude. It becomes difficult to serve them without wanting to throttle them.

Well chances are if they live by that system there's someone looking down on them too. LOL!

I have learned that the world is a reflection of what we present. And we need to stop and think when things don't go right. If someone mistreats me I stop and think back and nearly always I find that I had done the same thing in the near past. It's called the ATFAT Principle. A Turn For A Turn.

Exactamundo! Ya know when a bad starts and things just keep going down from there? We can actually learn to reverse it and make it into an upward spiral rather than a downward one. good things just keep piling up on top of each other. Taking that first step to turn it around is the hard part though.

In the front of the store I do. In the back of the store, I rant. Gotta blow off that steam somewhere.

Worked, Gas stations, Movie Theaters, rental cars, clothing sales...been involved with the public and I think the best lesson I have ever had was from Chief Reuben Greenberg with the Charleston PD. 'Treat them with professional attitudes"

No matter who they were or how bad you beat the crap out of them you called them Sir, Mam etc. And everyone you put in the back seat you made sure you said, "Sir watch your head and.....have a nice day."

LOL they would go bananas then you get to pull them out and hog tie them to the floor of the car.

Mostly home brewed, work cafeteria (good coffee!). When I drop into a coffee shop, usually on the weekend and I only drink local coffee from friendly baristas. Cabin Coffee or Rocket Bakery for the most part.

just remember this one thing everyone.

do NOT put nutmeg in your coffee everyday!!!!

it's a natural sedative.

i love the taste of nutmeg and i got hooked on it when 7/11 started offering it one year. after only 2 months i found myself falling asleep in Cub Scout meetings. . . while they were playing trumpets & clarinets & saxaphones! i had no idea what was wrong with me. i almost fell asleep at the wheel one evening. i finally put it together and stopped using nutmeg after i googled it on the web and found a few websites that confirmed my suspicions.
