“Got this email.. you guys prolly can answer him better.. believe it or not?.. heh.. have not done the Mt Cammerer hike yet.. (have been practically EVERYwhere else in the Smokies). So would you email this guy back a reply? "Howdy Towndawg -- I had not wrote you before, but I always see your name on the backpacker page. I will be taking my first hike to Mt Camerer fire tower next weekend, and I was wondering if you knew if it is always open so you can sleep in there, or is there a place to set up a tent near by and is there water nearby, or do I need to pack it in?? I would appreciate any information you could give me on it. Todd" He's at dudehiker@hotmail.com” 9:30:36 AM 9/18/02 “Cammerer isn't a campsite. The closest place to camp is either Cosby Knob or Davenport Gap. I heard that the tower is kept open but can't confirm that. However if you get caught camping there it's a big fat fine.” 9:39:10 AM 9/18/02 HPM “When did that happen? Years ago it was a designated campsite. I camped with a permit one winter very close to the tower.” 10:24:14 AM 9/18/02 Nevermind, Brain Fart “I was thinking of Mt Sterling.” 10:26:34 AM 9/18/02
