I wouldn't be too quick with that Opie.

The Eagles look like they are in good form this year.

I don't think they will win,,,,but I think they can.

LOL,,,,not too sure about leatherneck, but I know I would.

I had a job offer with Cennex in Kulm, ND after I moved out of the law practice. I took one look at the previous winter's temps/snowfall/ etc. It took me about one day to decline.

There's a "prairie Home Companion" coffee mug I love...printed on the side is this Garrison Keilor quote:

"Growing up in a place that has winter, you learn to avoid self pity. Winter is not a personal experience, everybody else is as cold as you, so you shouldn't complain about it too much. You learn this as a kid, coming home crying, from the cold, and Mother looks down and says, "It's only a little frostbite, you're okay". And thus, you learn to be okay. What's done is done. Get over it. Drink your coffee. It's not the best coffee you'll ever get, but it's good enough."

Obviously Garrison Keilor did not grow up on Lower Alabama.

In LA, they describe snowfall as looking like "grits falling from the sky"

Even a small amount of snowfall/cold weather paralyzes the South.

Yeah, my oldest brother moved to Georgia. Birch and I went to visit for a week after Xmas about five years ago. An inch of snow fell and everyone stayed in for days! He, (the brother), definately has the advantage when that happens, having learned to drive on the snow. It's the "others" you have to watch out for down there.

Oh yah tell me about it. I'm a native Southerner, but I try not to let what little snow we get paralyze me.

There are two REALLY FUNNY THINGS to watch in the South when it snows.

Funny thing no. 1: Going to the supermarket and watching people fight over the last loaf of bread.

Funny thing no. 2: Watching the redneck in the big 4x4 try to stop on an icy street going 50mph.

These are a few of my favorite things...

Hey, we have idiots up here who think 4x4 means better brakes too! You'd think they'd figure it out after the first snow.
