My very first solo trip: Manistee River Trail

A Trail Ho is not a bad thing. No one is saying your an actual whore or anything. It's a term of endearment.
The post trip blues get much easier with time. One nighters are too much of a tease. You really need at least 3 or 4 days out to really get your mind & body adjusted and the woods. After that you don't get them Post Trail Blues. You just want a Large Pizza with loads of toppings!!”

“I'm looking to go up that way again this coming weekend....but my car has just about had it when it comes to driving 440 miles round trip. I'm willing to meet anyone going up to the NCT/Manistee trail at Battle Creek. That's about as far as I feel safe enough to take my car now. Is there anyone going by there or is willing to??

“Gee, I just get home from work and find that there is a big desire out there for CHEESE CURDS. They do sell Wisconsin cheese curds in the western UP. We used to have to go across the border to get them. Anyway, I am going home the weekend before Manistee so I would be happy to pick some up. Now understand that they will not be as fresh as getting them directly from the cheese factories in Wisc. but I find them delectable anyway (no, they don't lose their squeak). If this is something that everyone wants me to pursue, let me know. BTW, my sister is flying in from Phoenix that weekend and her first request is always to find some of these too.”

I used to beg my college friends from the great Cheeseland to bring back curds after breaks. I got cheese a lot, and more often Kringle, which I don't really like. I'm not a big cofee-cake fan.”
