The colors are turningView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 24 of 24 messages posted.
Fall is here “This past weekend, we headed to Big McGee Lake in the eastern Sierras. The bright yellow leaves were beautiful. Here are pics I took: http://community.webshots.com/album/50765151jRrFSG” 12:56:15 AM 9/24/02 “Beautiful shots Girl! I'll be glad when the colors change way over here in Tennessee.” 5:36:46 AM 9/24/02 6:15:56 AM 9/24/02 “I made you a link to your pics, hope that's okay. :-)” 6:16:32 AM 9/24/02 “It will not be long before the trees start here! 8)” 6:20:52 AM 9/24/02 “The leaves are changing here and some are falling already. Nothing gets me more excited to go hiking than the leaves changing.” 6:27:16 AM 9/24/02 “Thanks for the link Artex. I haven't gotten the hang of linking. I thought it was too early for so much color, but it was great to see.” 7:38:23 AM 9/24/02 “Beautiful pics wingding. The colors are coming out here in Utah also.” 8:23:14 AM 9/24/02 Northwoods in process “The color shift is off to a good start in Northern Wisconsin. Right now in spots and patches, probably about 5 to 10 percent but changing quickly.” 8:26:34 AM 9/24/02 “YIPPEEEEE! i love it when the leaves change! i especially love stepping on crunchy leaves. i'll practically cross the street to step on one that looks particularly nice and crunchy. i'm sure i look quite drunk!” 8:38:22 AM 9/24/02 Beautiful Fall Photos!!!!!!! “wingdingO, very beautiful photos. Fall is in the air here in Montana as well. Yesterday, when I hiked to Grass Mountain it was 29 degrees when I went through Red Lodge . . . BURRRRRRR. On another thread you asked if I used a filter to make my sky so blue. I don't. The camera I use is a Kodak DX 3900, digital. The sky the day the photos were taken was just that intense.” 9:33:18 AM 9/24/02 “...and the buds are blooming.” 10:05:58 AM 9/24/02 “I love the fall.... It's my favourite season. The colour doesn't usually last long around here, though, before the rain washes it out. It's been a really dry year, for us..... and an unusually cool one, in the Rockies. We had a bit of snow in August, up there, and even more, in Jasper last week! I saw a news report last night, that said it's been so dry back east, in Quebec and Ontario, that the early colour is actually trees in stress, and their concerned that the maples etc. may actually die off.” 10:43:20 AM 9/24/02 “Anybody have an status report on the foliage up North (Adirondacks region, mainly). Anybody up there seeing any action? ;o) Dare and I were thinking about a weekend escape and we'd love to see some colors...” 7:47:10 PM 9/24/02 “It will not be long befor the leaves will be in full color! 8)” 7:58:19 PM 9/24/02 “I'm leading a "Fall Colors Trip" next weekend just south of McGee. I'm hoping the reds and oranges will be out by then.” 12:33:52 AM 9/25/02 “It should be even prettier next weekend. I won't get back to the Sierras until October 12/13. I hope there will still be some color - maybe the higher elevations will have color by then. On Sunday, I might go check out the Aspen Grove in the San Gorgonio Wilderness near where I live.” 12:44:42 AM 9/25/02 “Plenty of rain for the trees up here in Northern Wisconsin and more in the forecast. Reino will be leading her annual Northern Paddle and Trail Society fall color bike ride on the Bearskin Trail (rails-to-trails path) on Oct. 6, with yours truly as the trusty shuttle driver. Destination is a cafe-ice cream parlor in Minoqua, so it always ends well, no matter the weather.” 8:19:34 AM 9/25/02 For the "G's" 10:28:08 PM 9/25/02 “wow, that's cool! You're cool! Thanks, Pennsy! ;o)” 6:26:57 PM 9/26/02 “AmyG, I'm pretty close to the 'dacks. Just looked at a site yesterday for NH and they predicted peak would be in a couple of weeks. Leaves started to really change this week...you can see the colors just starting to show in some places.” 10:17:51 PM 9/26/02 Two weeks ago “First Aspens, Wheeler Peak First blush of the oaks in the Sandias are showing, aspens aren't quite ready.” 10:21:31 PM 9/26/02 “We're looking at the Daks for mid-October...hopefully that will still be peak. Keep me posted, Ski! (I forgot you moved up there...awesome for you!!) :o)” 5:16:38 PM 9/27/02 “The leaves are starting to change around town. Sycamores, elms, locust. Up in the Sandias the aspens are a lighter, yellow or drought-brown are not far behind.” 11:28:00 AM 9/28/02
