Mike Webster, the center of the Superbowl Steelers of the seventies. It's a sad day. He fallen on hard times in the last years, he's in a better place now.

Say a little prayer if you will.

tango, I am impressed. Not many people mourn the loss of a lineman.

Thanks Pathman.

He was Iron Mike before the perverted biting imposter! I was so impressed by his arms. He purposely wore shortened sleeves on his uniforms so he could intimidate the opposition.

Also he was a great humanitarian. He was a great person. Very giving of his time and self.

With Johnny U at QB it should be unbeatable. He'll spend eternity running the two-minute drill.

I saw Mark Malone talking about him tonight. I still remember his hall of fame induction and speech. Nice to know the media are being fair to him.

Thanks everyone. Cause I'm sad about his passing.

I've felt the same way about folks passing, especially way before they should have.

Frankly though, the hard times at the end of his life are sadder. Broke and homeless ... that shouldn't be the case with an athlete, even for the money they made back then. Apparently a lot of bad things happened to him. Like you said at the start, he's in a better place. Go with that.

Webster was the "local boy makes good" up here. His hometown of Tomahawk is 25 miles from me, so it was big news in our area media.

Wow, Pekka, that's cool. He did make good. Too bad how good he was in his career hurt him in real life.

Only 50 they said on the radio. Too many blows to the head. Sorta makes you think.
