Michigan Holiday Hikes

“So, we talked a little about doing a Halloween Hike (a Thursday) and/or a New Years Hike. Anyone still interested?”

“No Halloween hike for me. I want to rent a cabin for New Years eve...not hike.”

“SG - If you plan it, they may come.

Personally, I probably won't make a Halloween hike. I think I'll be in Colorado for a few days.

I recall talking about a weeknight night hike. I'd be interested in exploring that possibility.”

“OK, I'm up for some planning. Sass, got any thoughts on where you'd like to spend New Years?

Anyone else?”

“Yes, Rob's friend's place near Mio. Rob, get to it man! =)”

“I was kicking around the idea of hosting a Haloween party/campout/dayhike on Sat. There is lots of room to camp in my backyard, it's not ugly, it's private and quiet, and we can have a fire. I camp there all the time when I can't get away.
There a a number of decent dayhikes we could do Sat am.

Anyone?”

“Will there be Candyyyyyy?”

“How about the Crooked Lake Trail in Pinckney for the Halloween night hike? We could plan for 7PM. It's 5 miles, or two hours. Bring headlamps and wear all black.”

“Which Sat, le Subtil? Oct 26th or Nov 2nd?

RL - Sounds like fun, really! I definitely can't make it. I've officially booked a flight to CO.

But, I'd be game for another night hike some other time!

Sass - I don't think Q was planning to ask his friend about New Years. I thought he was going to ask about sometime in January? I could be wrong.”

“Yep, they'd be no way I could use his place on New Years. Plan was for something 2nd/3rd week of Jan?

Thanks for the reminder. I'll try and catch up with him on Sunday!

I can't make the Halloween hike. That's a great idea, though. New Years might be good. Nothing like freezing you @ss off to start the year off!!”

“Hey, is there a day near Halloween that more people could make? I'm not set on Halloween at all. I just think night hiking is way fun and with you guys it would be swell.”

“Hey - Building on RL said, how about doing a night hiking and make it an over nighter? Could do that on the Crooked Lake trail?

I could hike 11/1, 11/2 and 11/3.”

“I know Sass works on weeknights. Anyway we could do this on a Sunday night? Maybe the Sunday before Halloween??”

“That might work for me. I'll check tomorrow at work.”

“Don't worry about me...Abby'd be home alone, and I'm pawning her off enough for hiking purposes this month. Go, enjoy, and tell me about around the campfire, next time.”

“BTW, 2nd weekend in January is better for us.”

“OK. A Sunday night hike isn't necessary since Sass is out. Pick a date somebody....”
