Northern Lites?
Wanna finally upgrade from 25-year-old ashframes to Northern Lites snowshoes for increased efficiency in advancing age. Would like, however, to save coupla bucks in purchasing a pair of either "Backcountry" (list $248.) or "Rescue" (list $269.). I HATE to pay list price. Any help? Thanks.

Any suggestions for snowshoes up to $200? The club at work wants me to get a pair, but I don't have time to research. My choice would be Atlas, but that's over their price range.

I picked up a pair of Atlas snoew shoes at REI fer 84.00. Rated weight up to 250 lbs. I was at REI yesterday and they still had some in the clearance bins.

http://www.thesnowleopard.com has a few cheapo 2002 Atlas shoes.

I'm not sure if you can get a larger discount by using the code INV0902 (which is supposed to get you an extra 20% off "all" in stock items now through Monday evening).

REI outlet
Has these redfeathers on sale,

Redfeather Snowbird Snowshoes - 36'' - Special Buy
Item 678965
An all-terain binding system (ATB) lends these snowshoes the support of a ski boot and the comfort of a slipper!
Price: $109.93
Compare at: $150.00
Save: 26%

I have a pair of MSR Denali's and a pair of Atlas, both are good shoes. I have a slight preference for the Denali's only because I prefer a more rigid shoe and kinda like the side-rail gipping ability, but I'll never compalin about the Atlas shoes either...

Go for best price, IMHO.

Northern Lite are great shoes...got a pair myself. I think both Backcountry and Rescue are the same price, even though the website lists different prices. I paid $239 for mine.

Try calling them and asking them if they have retailers. The retailers may have discounts or clearence sales.

yah yah yah....do a GOOGLE search on "Yukon Charlie"

Good snowshoes at 1/4 of the price of brand name.

We got three pairs for the family last year.

Unfortunately no snow to use them in last year . . .so I can't give a test report.
