Don't feel bad guys. Somebody's gotta lose. Most years it's us Philly fans. Still might be, for all I know.

And then there was Army

Yeah, I don't feel too bad, seeing as we finally got our Superbowl trophy last year. I just wish they weren't so satisfied. :-) Still, gotta love the NFL in general. It's fun following all the other teams. Great sport.

Keyshawn fails to deliver, again

By Adam Rank
Special to NFL.com

(Nov. 24, 2003) -- A show of hands please: How many people got up early Sunday morning to catch the FOX pregame show in hopes that Ashton Kutcher and Jon Gruden would show up on the set and announce that Keyshawn Johnson had been "Punk'd?"

It didn't happen.

Instead, what was supposed to be a revealing insight into what happened in Tampa Bay last week turned out to be much ado about nothing. It was kind of like Johnson's playing career -- a failure to deliver on his promise.

After being badgered by former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson, Keyshawn Johnson bemoaned a lack of respect from Gruden.

Respect?

Johnson was the first overall selection in 1996 draft -- taken in front of Simeon Rice (No. 3, Arizona), Marvin Harrison (No. 18, Indianapolis), and Ray Lewis (No. 26, Baltimore). Tampa Bay traded two first-round picks for Johnson and gave him a $13 million signing bonus. And now he's complaining because he doesn't get enough hugs?

"It wasn't a matter of 'Hey, you're not throwing me the football'. It was a matter of dealing with me as a human being and a man," Johnson said.

It's worse than when Vincent Vega requested that the Wolf say "please" in Pulp Fiction. Shouldn't a professional athlete be past this sort of verbal reassurance typically reserved for third graders that want their art project hung on the refrigerator?

Johnson was paid a lot of money to not score touchdowns and to pout on the sidelines. Isn't that enough respect? As has been mentioned in this space in the past, Keenan McCardell and Joe Jurevicius were much more important to the offense than Johnson. He's not fast. He doesn't separate well from defenders. Johnson should count his blessings that he has been able to fool enough people for this long. Brian Bosworth would have had this type of career if he had managed to stay healthy.

Johnson will land a job next season. As the old adage goes, there is a sucker born every minute. He even went so far as to say that he would return to Tampa Bay this season.

"I would get on a private jet and fly in for [Monday's] game," Johnson said.

Don't waste your time sitting by the phone, Keyshawn.

Re: Keyshawn
First off: Yay! Bucs win.

As for Keyshawn, I was shocked at first, but I don't think the Bucs would have taken such drastic measures unless it was absolutely necessary. We can only speculate about what really goes on in the locker room and team meetings. I'm really glad they deactivated him. It's a bold move, and a wake-up call to smart-a$$ athletes in all pro sports. I wish more teams would have the gusto to do the same.

Pat vs. Colts! Awesome!

Incredible game, incredible ending. Both teams took turns being on fire while the other team looked like a bunch of punks. Pats, with three turnovers in the second half give the Colts a chance to burn up a 3 touchdown deficit and the Colts capitalize. Ultimately, it all comes down to a goal line stand, Colts with enough time and four points behind, can't get it in in four tries. Ouch!

Easy to say both teams deserved the win. The difference: two awesome kick returns by the Pats.

WOOHOO! 7 - 5!! Hey, that second half was as ugly as your grandparents screwing but HEY, we're Bengals fans! We'll take anything!

Good to see Brady and the Pats hold on to win. Now when Willy McGinniss was hurt near the sidelines ya just know the Colts fans were callin' him a puss. Had to have stunned them when the Puss stuffed 'em at the line. I love irony!

What a damn sham and a half! The guy makes the NFL sound like a den of iniquity just because he was running around snorting everything he could and screwing everyone he could. Like Boomer Esiason said, “That’s not the NFL I played in.”. So the guy plays off being a total dirt bag until he brings out a book and now he’s like Mr. I’mcomingclean.

It was nothing more than a plug for his book.

one-handed, out-stretched, and turns his body around so that he lands on his back so as not to lose it or cause injury to himself. and picks up 42 yards and the first down. thatll go in that mans CAREER highlight tape. hell, thatll go in the nfl all-time hightlight reel. talk some trash now, keyshawn. yea THATS how my muthafukka gets his catches. shut up and go cash yo check.
