Several years ago, the Vikings were 15-1 with Randall Cunningham at the helm. They were tied with the Falcons with ... some decent time on the clock. Enough for a couple of shots at the end zone. Instead Dennis Green goes for the tie and overtime. I don't believe they ever got the ball....

Remember when the Patriots defeated the Rams for the Superbowl. They had time on the clock and threw it downfield, far enough to give Adam a shot.

As the Pope drove off, the harpooner asked his buddies "who was that"? "It was the Pope," one replied. "He is in direct contact with God and has access to all of God's wisdom."

"Well," the harpooner said, "he may have access to God's wisdom, but he doesn't know anything about shark fishing. Is the bait holding up O.K., or do we need to get another one"?”

OK, so I posted this about a week ago. I was 3 for 4 in my predictions. My question is, what was the final score of the INDY KC game? I think I hit it exactly.

“crap! pollard and stokely are questionable for the afc championship. pollard is likely to play according to coaches, depending on how his ankle is doing, and stokely will be depending on how his infant son is doing. altho stokely is a bigger downfield threat, pollards absence would hurt more, since the colts are VERY deep at WR (probably the deepest in the league), but with dallas clark out the rest of the season, VERY thin at TE. they got davenport, my least favorite colt, and then who? forget about the two-tight end set. thats fine, they seem to do better in a three receiver formation.”

“Patriots 24, Colts 21. On the surface, it seems that Indy should win. You have a red hot Manning, you have a great coach in Dungy, you have E. James, Marvin Harrison.. But at least half the games were like that with the Patriots this regular season, but they only lost twice. Plus, Foxboro is supposed to get 2-4 inches of snow today, and it's still pretty cold. Not exactly good news for a dome team.

Panthers 24, Eagles 17 - Carolina's defense is probably going to give the Eagles a very tough time. The only Eagle that's a real threat is McNabb, as far as the Panther's defense is concerened. I hate Carolina with a passion, and I'm rooting for the Eagles, but just don't see Philly pulling it off.”

BUT, manning is due to crash off his hot streak, our best (and only good remaining) tight end is gimpy, and stokely is distracted IF he plays. but lets say both teams play their best. i give pats slight edge still, cuz theyre the best overall. good news for the colts d, however, the pats dont have a dominant tailback.”

talk about gutless. this is exactly the kind of fanmanship i hate. only 1 team in 32 can win, so the odds are greatly stacked against any team winning, so all you gotta do is keep making snide "this team sucks" comments, and then once they are eventually eliminated, as 31 out of 32 teams are, you can say "i was right all along", and then if they beat enormous odds, you can make aconcilatory effort with their true fans and get on the bandwagon. win/win situation for you. traitorous”
