Ben Offensive Rookie of the Year!
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was named The Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year on Wednesday.

Roethlisberger became the first quarterback to win the honor since it’s inception in 1957. He was a unanimous selection, receiving all 48 votes from a nationwide panel of pro football writers and broadcasters.

Roethlisberger has won all 13 of his NFL starts. He finished fifth in passer rating at 98.1 in the NFL. He completed 196 of 295 passes for 2,621 yards, with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also carried the ball 56 times for 144 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings lost to Atlanta in the finals before the Superbowl when they went to 15-1. What a bone head call by Denny Green. Atlanta went on to be lambasted by .... Gee I can't remember......

GRRRRR!In 1998 The Vikes went for a field goal that would have put them up by 10 points. But their then Kicker Gary Anderson, shanked it, missing his one and only field goal of the entire 1998 season. Atlanta drove down and scored a touchdown. Sending it into overtime. Which Atlanta eventually won with a field goal.
It is the one and only time a team had a 15-1 record and did not make it to the Superbowl. Broke Viking fans hearts around the world. I should mention that Altanta had a 14-2 record in 1998. And were also a good team. But was just happy to be in the Superbowl as Denver Broncos pounded them.

But the real crime was when The New York Giants Beat the Vikes 41-0. In 2001 - Here is a link discussing that game. The first time I have ever seen professional football players actually quit.

http://www.startribune.com/stories/510/5171214.html

Now after two years of quick starts and extremely WEAK finishes. We have backed into the playoffs. GRRRRRRRR!

So here is how I look at it. The Vikes themselves are not happy.

I think Monday we were the only team in the playoffs that wasn't happy," Tice said

So either they will show up to get their paycheck and then head for home with thier tails tucked between thier legs.

Or they will come out swinging, with that blood look in thier eyes, because they have embarrassed themselves, the franchise, the Coaches and the Fans as well as the Cities and State of Minnesota. And it is time for Redemption. And because their opponent is GREEN BAY!
Win lose or Draw, I will be watching the game as soon as I get back from the Mojave Preserve.
I do not care if they win or lose. As long as they Fight and do not quit like the 2001 team.

Steelers are playing at a level that no other team is.

New England is the only real threat.

The Colts. Gotta love Peyton Manning, such a class act. But the Colts defense will be thier achielles heal.

San Diego will do well, but drop out. Maybe even against the Jets, who has beaten them earlier.

Denver is dust!

The Eagles are a safe beat to win one game. But without TO, they not only have not played well, but Andy Reed has used the last two games of the season to mask the Eagles weaknesses at WR and RB by using only backups, so thier Playoff competition, does not get film they can use to prepare against them. But th is is only good for one game. The next game their will be film. And the Eagle will probably fall.

Atlanta is good as long as they do not have to pass.

Green Bay is probably the best bet here. The only reason their is a question concerning this weekends game against the Vikes is because it is extremely hard to beat a pro team three times in one season.

I am not sure why the Rams and Seahawks are even going to play, who ever wins is going to be destroyed the next week.

Now that I put it in print we will see how it goes... LOL

(w/ Minnesota up 14, Farvre throws an interception and Minnesota picks up 32 yard on the next two plays).

And now a Field Goal for the Vikings. At least we know they aren't getting a TD with every possession.

I don't really have a dog in this fight, I like both teams and both QBs just fine.

The Packers and Vikings are both so beat up! I don't see the Vikes having a chance next week.

Do you think we just saw Favre's last game? I remember Marino's last game was similar.

I'd also like to go out on a limb and predict that the Pats won't hang with the Colts next week.

Great Colts game today. They were saying on local sports radio that a Denver broadcaster was giving the Broncos a 1 in 20,000 chance to beat Indy. I think he would be right.

if the colts dont beat the pat smears, ill be rooting like hell for whoever plays them. and its not a choke if youre the underdog. philly and indy are hardly upstart teams. indy was in the conference championship last year and philly has been in the last 3. new england got into the superbowl by continually holding and interfering with colts receivers, and then barely beat an inferior carolina team, yet everyone talks about how dominant they are. feh.

If you're a Vikings fan or a Packers fan, you would know that Randy's little mooning stunt was actually a joke back to the Packers fan.

Every time the Packers beat the Vikes in Green Bay, the Packers fans moon the Vikings bus as it leaves the stadium.

Being a Vikings fan, I thought it was actually pretty funny.

But since Randy's not on YOUR team, you disagree.

They actually didn't lose that bad to the Eagles when they played earlier this year.

Now that the Vike's defense appears to be back, and TO's out, who knows, stranger things have happened, Maple and Spirit started a meaningful thread, once.
