After lossing twice to the Pack this year. It sure is SWEET to beat the Pack in Lambeau, on a cold day, when no one expects you even to show up. It is tough to win three games against a pro team in one season. Randy Moss can do any celebration he wants. I heard the announcers continuosly saying, "he just does not get it" In fact Bradshaw and the rest of the mouthpieces do not get it. If they did, they would understand the simple fact, Moss does not care what people think.
Next up is the Eagles, who have not played in almost 4 weeks, and this time they are without TO. This then becomes the team who made it to 3 NFC Championship games. Except thier running back is in Pittsburg

simmer down, chieftess. not knowing that fact, it does seem pretty crass. but knowing it, that does change my take on it.

if the iggles were at full-strength, id give the vikes no chance. as things stand, theyre a long shot to win but not unrealistic

jets stunned me with their upset of san diego. theyre a dangerous team right now cuz they got a LOAD of self-confidence, along with the number one rusher. look for jets/steelers to be a low-scoring, grind it out ball-control 10 minutes to go 50 yard sslugfest

I am not a Randy Moss fan. Heard about he celebration on ESPN last night. They played the incident out to be in poor taste, but wouldn't show the footage. I was left to believe that Randy groped and humped the goal post.

This evening local sports had played the incident and explained in more detail. Randy ran to the goal post, turned his back to the crowd, and made the motions of pulling his pants down as he bent over. A ghost moon.

And why did he do this?
A tradition Green Bay... When the Packers win, the fans line the fences around the stadium and moon the busses as the loosers leave the grounds. Randy and the Vikes had been mooned twice this season. This was Randy's turn to do the mooning. Albeit, a ghost moon.

Again, I am not a Randy Moss fan. Is this really something to get all worked up about? How about we arrest the Green Bay fanatics for public exposure. Or, Maybe the loosing team should be supplied with paint ball guns.

The Goat is absolutely correct. As Tony Dungy puts it, He has lost 6 straight times at Lambeau and each time the fans lined up and moon his teams bus as they drove off. Is it classless, sure it is. But it is all in good fun. After all football is by the NFL's definition, "Entertainment" Moss will get fined, but it is good entertainment? Is it something every will speak of during those watrer cooler stops? The only thing is that and next season the picture of his ghost moon will be in the locker room of the Packs.
As for the Eagles, they are the #1 team in the NFC. And should beat the Vikings this weekend. But as they say they may not and that is why they play the game. I would much rather have TO in the game. Because it is not as sweet if they are missing one of their stars. And n the remote event that the Vikes win, I am sure Andy Reed will be blamed, becasue he let his team have so much time off and they will say their timing was off. If they smoke the Vikes, then they will say he is a genius. Such is life in the NFL.

And speaking of sweepig a team. I think the Rams actually beat the Seahawks THREE times this year. That is very tough to do. So the Rams fans diffently have some bragging rights there. At least for this year. Now they face Mick Vick and the Falcons. Hmmm, the Falcons are not the Seahawks.

What will be Indi's undoing is this, no defence+Tom Brady's arm+Cory Dillon. I look for a high scoring game but in the end it's a lock for the Pats and I'll go so far as to double shock my bet!

no defense? please

in games 8-15 (all the games after the kc debacle but not including the denver game where they played mostly subs) the defense allowed an average of 318 yards per game, as well as tied for 3rd in the league for the whole season in takeaways. i wish i had time to do the math, but i bet the colts defense for the second half of the season would be in the top 10 in the nfl. new england finished the year at 310 ypg. as they were more consistent, ne has a slight, not great, edge in defense.

the running game is a wash, with the edge and the dill both being a-list tailbacks

colts obviously have the edge at qb and receiving corps, but not an enormous one

however, colts just seem to have a mental block where ne is concerned, or maybe ne just has their number. confidence in this game and who has more is going to be a factor

its not a lock for either team. of course, whoevers team wins, then all their fans will start saying "yea we knew it all along. told ya it was a lock"

I am not nervous at all about the Vikings; I am nervous about the Eagles.

It has been six weeks since they had a solid game (beating the Packers on 12/5.)

....

Predictions: Eagles to win ugly, Colts to win pretty. :)

LOL, Nigal you have seen way to many reruns of Moss's highlighted Moon celebration. I like Manning and Indy, especially Dungy. But if I remember right, last year the Colts played 2 outstanding games where they did NOT punt the ball even once. And they scored a ton of points. Only to go to new England and fall on their faces. I am a believer that some teams have the number of other teams. Giants>Minnesota..... Just to name one. So if the Pats win, then that is all there is to it. But if the Colts win. Cool, I like them. I think the Colts are really the only team that has a chance of beating Pittsburg. Just simply outscoring them. My heart says Indy, but my common sense says, the Pats will knock the Colts out again..

The Pats secondary has been decimated with injuries. If anyone can exploit that, Manning can.

pats are only a 2 1/2 point favorite, and home teams automatically get 3. poor weather will favor the pats because the colts play more than half their games on astroturf. good weather conditions will favor the colts. the re-emphasis on illegal contact downfield will also help the colts. note that it is a re-emphasis and not a rule change. in other words, the rule was not being enforced properly the last several years and unfairly hindering offenses. this is a game that could go either way, but of course the winning teams fans and the ppl whoe bet on the winning team will say "i knew it all along"

for the time being , my money is on pittsburgh to win it all. that may or may not change after the second round

Well here we go again. Colts kicker Vanderjagt shot his mouth off again saying that he thought the Patriots were "ripe for the picking." The Patriots blew it off but you know that's got to fire them up. I heard on sports radio tonight that the Patriots haven't covered the field with a tarp like they usually do and that it's been raining and the field is muddy as hell. They hope to slow down Indy's passing attack by letting the field get messy. If the Colts don't have a meaningful passing attack against the Patriots they're doomed. I believe the Patriots are a much more physical team in the trenches against the run. I don't know if the Colts have an answer for Corey Dillon. Another nail in the coffin for the Colts is alot of sports anaylst are picking them to win.

Do you really think that the Pats can cover on a muddy field the precise routes which Peytons targets run? The Colts got screwed out of the big game last year because of uncalls in Mass. This will not happen again.
As far as Colts defense... They sucked in the early games, but have shown themselves to be stong in the end. (choke against strong offensive team such as Chiefs) They are much better than the numbers show.

Colts win easily!

Pats pobably don't have a chance. I see them losing by 14 or more. All of the rule changes were put in place to get Manning to the stupor bowl. He is the leagues poster boy. The Steelers may be a fly in their soup because they appear to run the ball better than anyone.

If the Colts beat the Patriots on Sunday and the Steelers beat the Jets I think a Colts/Steelers game would favor the Colts. The Steelers wouldn't be able to run the ball if there down by 21 points in the first quarter.

I saw in the newspaper that the NFL has checked out the field in Foxboro. They said the field is in fine shape and that the Patriots covered the field last night. The Forecast for Sunday in New England is partly cloudy and 33 degrees.

It's probably what keeps me from getting worked up about it (my own behavior). Have you ever seen what Favre does when he throws a touchdown pass against the Vikings?

No I bet you haven't. That's because the networks won't show it.

Every time Favre throws a touchdown pass against the Vikes, He does a motion that imitates a slitting of the throat.

But hey, that's OK, because it's Favre.

Eagles Give Free Tickets to US Troops

by KYW's David Madden
The Philadelphia Eagles are making some room for our troops at Sunday's playoff game at the Linc.

At a rally at Fort Dix, NJ, about 200 US troops were greeted Friday afternoon by members of the Eagles cheerleader squad and "Swoop" the team mascot.

Eagles center Hank Fraley was there to toss a few footballs and get everyone revved up for Sunday's game against the Vikings.

And the Eagles had a surprise for 75 of the service members who attended the rally: tickets to Sunday's game.

The Eagles say they are setting aside 500 tickets for members of the military who are either going to or coming from Iraq.

"Peyton Manning's great if you want lots of touchdowns, Tom Brady's great if you want to win big games"

now thats ridiculous. how do you think tom brady wins big games if not throwing touchdowns? how good do you think new england would be if THEY had manning? do you really think tom brady would have gone to the superbowl twice if he was on the colts team? what else does brady do that gets him bigger wins? does he play defense? does he catch the ball? is he the primary rusher? no. of course not. the rest of the team around him does that. the insinuation that brady is a better quarterback than manning simply because brady has two rings to mannings none makes about as much sense as saying trent dilfer is a better quarterback than dan marino for the same reason. trent who? yea, exactly.
