Not even a pitter patter!

Seriously, even if the Giants fold at this point, I think this team has lots to feel proud of. They allowed themselves the time to rebuild from the ground up. They definitely have a quarterback now. Shockey has matured and is, pretty much, behaving on the field. Plaxico and Toomer are playing fine. Tiki has learned how to hold on to the ball. And, the offensive line has gotten better

On defense, they have some great, young talent that are learning the game. Working out some more kinks, and we may have a fine team in the next few years. This is unlikely a Super Bowl year for them. But, that's ok! They need a little more time to mature and then, watch out!

I don't expect the Eagles to go anywhere, realistically, but it would not be totally uncharacteristic of them to win out the season and end up first or second. The division seems to be near parity, with the Grunts and Plowboys riding high. The difference between them and the Deadskins and Buzzards is only two games, but there are only five games left. The Buzzards not only have to win out the season, but the top two teams have to lose about three of those five. Not very likely in either case.

Hey, Slack! Yeah, I gotta feel for himand feel what you said, at the same time. Overall, the Giants (aside from all the damned penalties) played a good game against them. If they got the notch in the win column yesterday, I would have to say it was well deserved, with a good deal of that credit going to the defense. It was a pretty good nailbiter, though, I must admit!

Lions fire Mariucci

By LARRY LAGE, AP Sports Writer
November 28, 2005
DETROIT (AP) -- The disappointing Detroit Lions fired coach Steve Mariucci and some of his assistants on Monday, a team official told The Associated Press.

After Detroit lost 27-7 to the Atlanta Falcons on Thanksgiving to fall to 4-7, reports swirled that the team was considering firing Mariucci. When Mariucci was not let go over the weekend, some thought his job was safe for the final five games of the regular season.

Mariucci and the assistants were fired late Monday morning, said the team official, who spoke with the AP on the condition of anonymity because the team had not yet made the official announcement.

The Lions have lost four of five games since a solid start put them atop the NFC North with the Chicago Bears. The team has collapsed on and off the field with players failing to produce and some bickering with one another and questioning the coaches' game plans.

Sorry Giants fans but the game wasn't nearly as close as you might think it was...

"KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -- The Seahawks received rare word from the NFL that referee Larry Nemmers erred Sunday on the New York Giants' two touchdowns in Seattle's 24-21 overtime victory.

The NFL said touchdown catches made by Jeremy Shockey and Amani Toomer shouldn't have been ruled completions."

I wouldn't be surprised if the Seahawks see Manning in the Super Bowl. That Dungy defense is tough! I still think Pittsburgh could beat any team in the NFC.

The Lions are such a joke. Matt Millen is a likable character, but I think he's ruining that team. They have so much talent going to waste.

i dont get the onsides kick by cowher

haven't you noticed the trends teams are using against the colts, on side kicks, fake injuries, challenging unchallengeable plays...nobody in the league has seen a team play like this, not even the refs and nobody's sure how to deal with it

i don't know what to think about the seattle game...on one hand it's the second to last game and we'll have the division and home field advantage locked up so you'd think they won't play to win, but on the other hand if they're still undefeated they just may go all out, though there is no talk by anybody in the organization about going undefeated or even winning the super bowl, they're just concentrated on one game at a time

its a very high possibility that the colts and seahawks will face each other in the superbowl, so if they have homefield wrapped up by then, neither team is going to want to show the other too much in terms of strategy, formations, etc. homefield clinched=meaningless uneventful game

Jinx, Jinx, Jinx
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A man arrested for running onto the field during the Philadelphia Eagles' game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday told police he was spreading his late mother's ashes.

Christopher Noteboom, 44, of Tempe, Arizona, ran onto the field holding a plastic bag, leaving a cloud of fine powder behind.

As he reached the 30-yard line, he dropped to his knees, made the sign of the cross and laid down on his stomach. Security personnel reached him moments later and he offered no resistance as he was escorted from the field.
